We are going to boycott you…http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/10/gop-womens-group-boycotts-oprah-for-refusing-to-book-palin/
“People from Southern California, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado, Rhode Island, just about every state in the union. We’ve also had a tremendous response from Democrats and Independents who are supporting McCain, and Hillary supporters,” she said.
Asked whether the boycott is affecting Oprah’s TV ratings and magazine subscriptions, Graves said Winfrey is “keeping that quiet.”
A spokeswoman for Oprah’s company, Harpo Productions, said Harpo would have no comment on the boycott, and said Harpo is not at liberty to give out ratings information for “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which is syndicated by CBS Paramount Television, or subscription information for O, The Oprah Magazine, which is owned by Hearst.
But when Oprah Winfrey gives you her billion-dollar blessing and her platinum Rolodex, what’s a freshman senator to do? A study by University of Maryland economists makes the case that her endorsement alone was worth more that one million votes in the Democratic primary.
Then there was the post-Denver post-speech hoorah: “I think it’s the most powerful thing I have ever experienced,” Miss Winfrey told her fellow believers in the press corps. “I cried my eyelashes off.”
The scenario reads like the Visa campaign: “Priceless.”

According to tmz.com, you will pencil in the first Republican vice presidential nominee after the election:
http://www.tmz.com/2008/09/05/oprah-to-palin-i-can-pencil-you-in-later/
So, now we see that you have learned from Obama how to toss people under the bus as well. Very, very ugly of you. You have become one of them:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/palin_bashing_press_keeps_swin.html
What happened to empowering women??????? You are a HYPOCRITE.
You show your true colors now, figuratively that is. Why is Sarah Palin a NO as a guest until after the election? Incredible. Do you know what year this is? I can only assume that you are a racist and a misogynist. What happened to the original Oprah? I and many others realize that you are a billionaire. Don’t forget that WE were the ones who offered YOU an invitation into our homes to share what you had to say. What in the world are you thinking? I know that I am not the only one to lose respect for you because of your poor decision making. I realize that you can insulate yourself with your money now. Karma is a bitch! There are many polls out this evening and you do not have favorable status in any of them. You are NO longer an invited guest in my home. Don’t look for higher ratings either. More than 34,000 people answered a poll about you this evening at one poll. I can tell you only 3% polled though you were not lying and are not biased.
This is a copy of an email that a friend sent to me and it’s message is very powerful. It was not that long ago that we women did not have this privilege. Almost one hundred years have passed and we are seeing another woman take a first step. A Republican woman named Sarah Palin who is the vice presidential nominee. This is history. First Geraldine Ferraro, then Hillary Rodham Clinton and now Sarah Palin. Enjoy the story below, it is history as well.
This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago. Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. Women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of “obstructing sidewalk traffic.”
They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women. Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote. For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms.
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
It is frightening to know that Woodrow Wilson and his cronies tried to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. The doctor refused. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn’t make her crazy. The doctor admonished the men: “Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.”
Let us not forget that voting is a privilege. History is being made.

Let them know you are NOT happy with them supporting politically biased shows like Oprah!
September 6, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Too bad Oprah does not practice what she preaches about fairness. If she did, she would give equal time to Obama opponents, even though she reportedly does not want to get involved in politics. Funny, she already is involved, by actively supporting Obama.

Read this for your daughters!
Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that women can and do diverge on important issues.
Even on the question of whether women should vote!
Most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won votes for women, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.
Suffragettes were opposed by many women who were what was known as ‘anti.’
The most influential ‘anti’ lived in the White House. First Lady Edith Wilson was a wealthy Washington widow who married President Wilson in 1915.
Her role in Wilson’s decision to jail and torture Alice Paul and hundreds of other suffragettes will never be fully known, but she was outraged that these women picketed her husband’s White House.
I’d like to share a women’s history learning opportunity…
“The Privilege of Voting” is a new free e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 – 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to win the vote.
It’s a real-life soap opera! And it’s ALL true!
Powerful suffragettes Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with TWO gorgeous presidential mistresses, First Lady Edith Wilson, Edith Wharton, Isadora Duncan and Alice Roosevelt.
There are tons of heartache on the rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, women WIN!
Thanks to the suffragettes women have voices and choices!
Exciting, sequential episodes are great to read on coffeebreaks, or anytime.
