There is a lot of Obama campaign stuff out there.  Let’s be real about this.  If the campaign needed stuff overnight, it could be done.  There are many tiny companies who would welcome the opportunity for extra work and would make the necessary Obama Biden tees, hats, etc.  Why is this not being done, Obama camp?  What do you have up your sleeves?

Politically, such a move by the Democratic Party would be seen as a last-ditch move on the part of the Democrats. It would demoralize the Democratic Party. Although a decent number would welcome an Obama-Clinton ticket, an equal number would see it for what it is: sheer desperation.

A popular online trading exchange website is taking wagers on whether Biden will be withdrawn from the ticket soon.

Intrade is currently predicting a 7.9 percent chance Biden will be dropped.

Obama’s most important decision of this election, and Biden – the candidate he selects – suggests, himself, that he wasn’t the right man for the job, and that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice. Biden certainly has a credible viewpoint on this.

Many Clinton supporters pushed for an Obama/Clinton ticket following the primaries, arguing she would help Obama win over Hispanics and blue-collar voters. Rather than vetting Clinton, Obama announced Biden as his running mate two days before the Democratic National Convention. Now some are speculating about what could happen to Obama’s quest for the presidency if Biden is dropped from the ticket.

The “Sean Hannity Show” featured a reader poll on its website asking, “If Biden gets yanked, is it over?”

Approximately 6.49 percent said “No, he could win,” while 22.08 percent said it depends on other circumstances.

A full 71.43 percent responded, “Yes! Pack it up.”

There’s more rumor going about that Senator Joe Biden will excuse himself from the Democratic Vice Presidential ticket possibly due to health reasons.  An October surprise?  Something to foil the Republican’s attempt to retain the White House?  And handily stepping in to place?  Lady -in-waiting, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, to bring back Hillary-supporting disillusioned Democrats.  This was abuzz recently.  Death By 1000 Papercuts, Canada Free Press, Associated Content, Orange Juice Blog, Urban Legends, and American Thinker, all discussed the rumor.  Flopping Aces reviewed why the rumor is probabaly false, and lists several slick points why Biden is beloved by the Republicans.

Joshua Pundit reported on September 17, 2008.

The way it’s supposedly going down is that sometime after October 5th Biden will step down from being Obama’s running mate because of ‘health reasons’and Hillary will come on the ticket. The reason for the October 5th date is the VP debate on October 2nd, which Biden will handle either because Hillary wouldn’t have sufficient time to prep or simply refused..and anyway, they want Hillary to be an October surprise and try to pull things out at the last minute.

Death By 1000 Papercuts reported on September 21, 2008, No Biden Rumor: No Obama-Biden Campaign Materials in Obama Offices.  Signs anew of rumor?  Rather odd for a presidential campaign supposedly in full swing.  Rumor swill?  Read on.

If Joe Biden were not the solid VP pick–and due to be replaced in the rumored “October Surprise”–it would seem that there wouldn’t be much of an investment made by the Obama campaign in Obama-Biden campaign materials and merchandise.

We visited three Obama campaign offices in three different states, called several others in a few states picked at random and checked out Barackobama.com’s online store to see what the situation was.

…there is no end to the “Only Obama” campaign materials.

…“No one has any (Obama-Biden campaign merchandise)”.  “We don’t have any Obama-Biden stuff. The national campaign says it’s sold out and back-ordered. It’ll be about two weeks until we get any.”

Two weeks?  That would place the date around the 4th or 5th of October, incidentally.
