Update:  100208

But they are gonna let her have at ‘em both tonight.

WASHINGTON – As expected, a blue ribbon panel from the Ifill Center for Media Ethics cleared award-winning political journalist Gwen Ifill of all charge today, ending a lengthy 20 minute investigation into “ethics” charges that most observers believe were motivated by politics and racism. Ifill, like dynamic groundbreaking President-in-Waiting Barack Obama, is Black.

Appearances be damned, Ifill now has the seal of approval.  I still say “Ifill HEARTS Obama” tees should be sold tonight.  Wear them proudly!  Especially Ms. Ifill.  While she is feeling the love, she should be imagining the world spreading happiness.  Visualize Ms. Ifill, just see it and you will hear it.

Ahh!!  Look at the love on Michelle’s post.  Can’t you just feel the love?  http://michellemalkin.com/2008/10/02/newsflash-ifill-ethics-commission-clears-ifill/

Unfortunately, Ms. Gail T. from VA does not feel the love toward Michelle.  I thought those were the lyrics to that ridiculous Obama Youth Corps song???   Anyhow, Ms. Gail believes that she owes her career to Ifill.  I do believe that Ms. Gail has not learned anything from the One about LOVE…

Don’t you wonder why in times like this they trot your slanted-eyed self out, along with several willing negro and hispanic housemaids and boys, and have you deliver their poison in the belief that fair thinking, intelligent People of Color are as stupid and easily bought as you? How can you be a witness to this wondrous moment in history, and have only one thought – to destroy it for your own gain?

Get yourself unkotted woman!  This is no way to share the love that Ms. Ifill intends on dishing out.  I do believe that Ms. Gail is a RACIST.

Update: Come to find out this afternoon 100108 via Michelle,

…race card-playing Gwen Ifill did not inform the debate panel about her book.

The host of PBS’”Washington Week” and senior correspondent on “The NewsHour” said she did not tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book.

The Columbia Journalism Review takes up the matter of Gwen Ifill serving as a debate moderator while preparing to publish a book about Barack Obama.   … Ifill stands to benefit financially from Obama’s election.  That, Barrett notes, should disqualify Ifill from moderation duties.

McCain’s campaign did not know about the book? WTH?  The Anchoress describes Palin very well.

In Palin, McCain picked a diamond in the rough. He then proceeded to try to overgrind and overpolish it, until it was too smooth, unnatural-seeming, and – because it no longer had ANY edge – lacking value. He has done NOTHING to release its intrinsic brilliance and glow.

So let us hope that she will carefully tread where the snakes lie.  On Thursday, PBS Gwen Ifill will serve as the only moderator for the first and only vice presidential debate.

Ifill is moderating Thursday night’s vice-presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. Her book, “The Breakthrough,” is due to be released about the same time the next president takes the oath of office.

In her book, Ifill contends that the black political structure of the civil rights movement has cleared the way for post-racial politicians to ascend to new heights..

Now some are wondering whether Ifill can be fair and balanced, and whether she should be the moderator of Thursday’s 9 p.m. ET debate. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/01/vp-debate-moderator-pens-pro-obama-book/

My one question (as is Michelle’s and my other friends) is, “How can you be a moderator when you are already in the tank for one of the candidates?”  You might as well be wearing an Ifill Hearts Obama Tee Shirt.

Ifill has already written a book on The One to be released on January 20, 2009.   What a coincidence that is just happens on the same day of the inauguration of the next president of the United States!  Stunning!

Does this smell?  Am I and my friends the only ones who see a teensy weensy bit of crap piled high?

The Commission on Presidential Debates, with the assent of the two campaigns, decided not to impose any guidelines on her duties or questions.

In an imaginary world where liberal journalists are held to the same standards as everyone else, Ifill would be required to make a full disclosure at the start of the debate. She would be required to turn to the cameras and tell the national audience that she has a book coming out.  Then all could enjoy watching the journalistic fellatio.

The title of Ifill’s book? “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.” Nonpartisan my foot.  Ifill’s publisher, Random House, is already busy hyping the book with YouTube clips of Ifill heaping praise on her subjects, including Obama and Obama-endorsing Mass. Governor Deval Patrick.

Yeah, that other guy with the great approval ratings.

Sidenote:

TVNewser reports that Ifill has broken her ankle, but she’s still going to do the debate. But will she disclose her conflict of interest? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: Telephone 202-872-1020.

E-mail address for Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org

Let her know what you think.

During the Republican National Convention, the PBS ombudsman fielded numerous complaints about Ifill’s coverage of Sarah Palin’s speech. Wrote Brian Meyers of Granby, Ct.:

“I was appalled by Gwen Ifill’s commentary directly following Gov. Sarah Palin’s speech. Her attitude was dismissive and the look on her face was one of disgust. Clearly, she was agitated by what most critics view as a well-delivered speech. It is quite obvious that Ms. Ifill supports Obama as she struggled to say anything redemptive about Gov. Palin’s performance. I am disappointed in Ms. Ifill’s complete disregard for journalistic objectivity.”

Like Obama, Ifill, who is black, is quick to play the race card at the first sign of criticism. In an interview with the Washington Post a few weeks ago, she carped: “[N]o one’s ever assumed a white reporter can’t cover a white candidate.”

Ad from Random House:

How can a supporter of one of the candidates be a moderator???  Ifill the objective moderator. Isn’t affirmative action grand! Sure gotta have a PC selection as moderator no matter the question of “impartiality”.  Why not have Maxine Waters instead?  Or perhaps Rev. Wright, possibly Bill Ayers, Mr. Rezko…holy cow, the list could go on and on.  Watch the video of Ifill at the RNC convention discuss Gov. Palin.
