I have never supported taxpayer bailouts for mismanagement.  If I can manage my checkbook, so can anyone else.  Sadly, the greatest opportunity this country has to offer is soiled with mismanagement.  Individuals are forced to work against the system instead of working in tandem.

Unions have long outlived their intended function. A GM worker wrote to Michelle Malkin and passed along some of the tidbits that make AIG party behavior seem as benign as church activity.

A few years ago I was in Warren Assembly, in Warren, County, Michigan. Two plants side by side make the Ford Focus and the Ford Expedition. As you drive from Dearborne to Warren County, every abandoned shopping center parking lot was full of vehicles. A friend of mine was then the HR Manager for Ford Truck and I asked him why they were still building.

UAW Labor is paid company wages whether they work or not.

Why do the foreign manufacturers succeed?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why they cannot compete profitability. They have parity on supply costs, materials, and energy with Honda and Toyota. So why can’t they compete? It is clearly the cost of labor.

I have worked with unions in the past.  I must say that they left a fowl odor behind.  Never desentsitized to the pack mentality of entitlement always left me speechless.

Mind you, the individuals themselves were never the problem, the source was union management and their demands (never requests).

No matter the extent of American ingenuity, no matter how advanced the ideas, the Big Three in America are hopelessly beholden to the unions and encumbered by labor unions.

Unions and Activists You Owe Us Barack, great post at the Real Barack Obama by Procrustes.  Very good article…one to savor.
