… a very troubling situation. This may be child abuse at the highest level.
facts: Nadya Suleman, is a 33-year-old single mom already raising six young children in the small home of her parents. Nadya is a health care worker who, according to her mother, became pregnant with all the children through in-vitro fertilization.
But six was not enough for Nadya, so last spring she allowed multiple embryos to be implanted in her womb and, subsequently, the octuplets were born on January 26th.
When asked if the mother of the year wants major money to tell her story, Ms. Killeen dodges and weaves.
This is child abuse of the worst kind and few seem to care. The taxpayers will wind up paying for much of Nadya’s irresponsibility, and the fourteen children will pay an enormous price… just wait and see.
Who will pay for that? Chances are the taxpayers. Nadya has little money and her parents filed for bankruptcy. By the way, the hospital bill for the octuplets and mom is estimated to be around $1.3 million.

Lauer asks Ann Curry how she’s planning to pay for the kids while she’s in school, to which the reply is, “She’s trying to figure that out.” Was even a moment’s thought given to financial planning at any point during this pregnancy?

How is this woman going to care for all these children, one asks? Simple. She won’t. We, the taxpayers will.
So far we have a woman who’s had 14 children through IVF, collected $168,000 in a workman’s comp injury to her back, and obviously has had numerous injections and possibly surgery to look like Angelina Jolie. Her own mother calls her decision to have MORE children “unconscionable” and refuses to continue taking care of her litters of children; and now the grandfather has taken off to Iraq to work (probably to escape the craziness of all of this).
Plainly, this is nuts. The woman should have had a mental health evaluation first and foremost. The doctor is under investigation for his role in this fiasco. Frankly, the doctor should be required to support all of these kids.
It’s clear the woman is seeking attention and fame in the worst possible way; by using children. The fact that the media is bending to this psycho’s fantasy and giving her air time is pathetic as well. And now she wants to write a book?
Two things on that note. First, before writing a book, one should be required to read one. Second, giving birth to litters of children is not a reason to become literary. Being able to support them and raise them into decent,contributing human beings without the government dole (taxpayer dollars)…now THAT would be a reson to write a book and get on the Oprah Show.

When a woman receives disability for a back injury so serious that she cannot work, how does she then manage to physically endure these countless pregnancies?

Alas, I think my “hope account” (which never had any deposits to begin with!) on this circus has exhausted itself. Here you go for proof:
A friend’s daughter receives SSI benefits for being born premature. She weighed 1 pd 14 oz & was 3 1/2 months early. They filed for SSI benefits in either late May or early June, not really sure. They qualified & she receives $30 a month while she is still in the NICU but will receive $630 when she is home.
So want to place a wager Nadya knew this BEFORE she decided so mercifully not to selectively reduce? Don’t EVEN try telling me she didn’t with three of her kids on SSI already

Right now elderly people who have WORKED all their lives and paid IN to Social Security cannot afford the medicines that are necessary for them, because their SS checks are a pittance. And this woman, this drain on society receives SSI for children that she DOES NOT WORK TO SUPPORT.

What is fascinating to me is that since Workers’ Compensation benefits are not taxable, when she was filing for all of these other welfare benefits, I wonder if the State of California Welfare System was aware of it since it would not have been included on any tax returns. I also wonder how someone who starts collecting Workers’ Compensation at age 23, can still continue to collect for a “bad back” after 10 years. The WC carrier should really conduct an SIU investigation into this woman because not only is the CA taxpayers paying for her welfare benefits, but some anonymous WC carrier (probably also the State since it appears she worked at a State Hospital is paying her additional tax free monies. Clearly, her EIC monies from the Feds are adding additional income to her bank account. So it would be easy to double dip without one agency not knowing what the other is doing especially with non-taxable income such as Workers’ Compensation benefits. Also, did she apply for Social Security Disability for her back as well? I work my butt off every day and this woman makes more than me sitting home having babies and obvious plastic surgery and IVF treatments that cost a ton of money. The State of CA should investigate her finances for possible irregularities. No wonder your state is so poor and bankrupt.
I do feel sorry for the children, it is very sad that a woman can be so “irresponsible” as her parents have indicated.
I am SHOCkED as well that she is having plastic surgery and going to school full-time and having tons of babies, yet the WC carrier could not get her into a voc rehab program to get her some type of job in the last 10 years? Maybe if she had something to do besides sit home, watch Maury ad Jerry, get plastic surgery, IVF and her french manicures, she would have realized the value of raising children in the real world.

I will say that she most likely would not have had all of these children if there her benefits had been difficult to acquire. This woman is an idiot. Who does she believe paid for the hospital bill? The kiddy fairy?
