Outrageous? Well, now the (fill in the blank), Nancy Pelosi has decided it is unAmerican to enforce immigration laws.
Texas Rep. Lamar Smith gives Pelosi a well-deserved tongue-lashing:
Ranking Member Lamar Smith (R-Texas) today criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for recent remarks that insulted federal law enforcement officers.
Congressman Smith’s comments came on the House Floor in response to Pelosi’s remarks at a weekend immigration rally in San Francisco, at which Pelosi said enforcement actions by ICE were “un-American.”
A longtime supporter of efforts to uphold the rule of law, Smith said the comments were particularly regrettable since more than 12 million U.S. citizens and legal immigrant workers are jobless. According to the most recent Pew estimates, more than seven million illegal immigrants are working in the U.S.
How many Americans are out of work Nancy?
“Twelve million Americans are out of work. Seven million illegal workers hold jobs that should go to citizens and legal immigrant workers.
Are there any human smugglers that would like to take Nancy to a special place in the desert and leave her there? Cash only? Hmm, perhaps we can have a telethon to raise some.

She needs to come to Goshen, IN and see the drugs comming in from Mexico and the killing of little gang bangers that have been let in to our town. It is unsafe to walk the streets for fear of being shot. Not to metion the meth labs that have taken over. and the identity thefts. How dare you insult the very law officers that have to work 24/7 to try and keep us safe and are fighting a loseing battle. because of people like you and Jane Fonda

Well, as I said before, we can have a telethon and find her an island. Then we can ship as many illegal aliens to Ms. Nancy.

I always thought it was Pelosi who’s un-American. Funny how she turns this stuff around on us.
Pelosi, you (fill in the blank).

OMG, I have a litany of adjectives to describe Pelosi. I’m sure she would not approve.
March 19, 2009 at 6:34 PM
Hey, Pelosi, how many illegals are you hiring at your vineyard at Napa Valley?
You must stepdown and give the no. 3 highest position in this country to a patriot who will support and uphold laws in this country. How dare you insult law abiding citizens of this country. What a shame to have you in Congress.

She’s UNAMERICAN as ever! How many years before she leaves?

I wish some coyote would take her and drop her off in the desert somewhere.

I am a LEGAL immigrant, and personally i am offended over the way the Obama/Pelosi/Napolitano group are changing the rules. I went through 11 years of process to get here, and these people are basically calling me an idiot for wanting to become a real American the LEGAL way.

Thank you. Hunter Cantor. I am the child of an immigrant who went jumped every hoop to fulfill their obligation before being granted US citizenship. I can assure you that everyone who has done this via the proper course is feeling the same way. They are making a mockery of the US Constitution.

I guess you forgot who the real citizens of US are.
They are living in reservations.
March 25, 2009 at 5:24 PM
Chef, never. They are the first recognized citizens of this country.

Chef,
The Native American argument is an old, tired, and ultimately invalid argument.
If you go far enough back into history in ANY country, before what we might consider current law, you will always find other peoples. Wars, and migrations (legal by the terms of their time) have changed borders and populations all through history. All European borders were created by such migrations and wars. Think Roman migration for example.
All of California, New Mexico, Texas, and maybe other states was once Mexico. History changed that. Does that mean that we should just drop those states, and change our borders?
Watch the Science TV channel, and you will see that 2 Bill years ago, before the tectonic plates separated, current geology shows that Morocco was physically right next to and connected to New York. Does that mean that anyone from the African continent or even just Morocco should have a free ride into the US, as they might have been living on our continent once upon a time.
I do not believe the treatment of Native Americans was fair, just, or reasonable under any current measure. But by the laws of the time, that was how it happened, independent of how embarrassing it might be to us today. But embarrassment today does not mean that we can turn back time. We cannot undo previous generations actions.
If your argument would hold, we would similarly have to send all African Americans back to Africa, because at that time in old history they did not belong here, nor did they want to be here.
You cannot ignore changes incurred through history, just because we today might think differently. That rules goes for all countries.
I have lived in 3 different countries, and all of them have a history that could be used to make the invalid argument you are making.
