Thank you for helping my neighbors with their mortgage payments. You know, the one’s down the street who (in good times) refinanced their house several times and bought SUV’s, ATV’s, an RV, a pool a big screen, two Wave Runners and a Harley. Listen, I was wondering, since I am paying my mortgage and theirs, could you arrange for me to borrow the Harley now and then?

P.S. They also need help with their credit cards, so when do you want me to start making those payments?
P.S.S I almost forgot, they aren’t going to file their income tax return this year. Should I file for them or will you be appointing them to cabinet posts?
Just had to post.

I know you’re just trying to be funny. But I wouldn’t lump all people who refinanced in the same category. Most people I know used the money to improve their homes. Energy efficient windows, replace old appliances…and not a brand new pool, just the upgrades (pump, plumbing, resurface) they put in new copper pipes to replace 30-40 year old galvanized pipes…all very expensive projects.

Imust, I received this in an email. Another form of gallow humor. Lumped together with the abusers are those that really have to struggle. It is a fact. I live in the midst of many people who abused the system. My other family members live in the midst of those that actually did something productive with the loans and now they don’t have jobs.
