OMG, I had to reread this one. I have to believe that Gov Deval Patrick is now rowing with one oar in the water.
So, if you really think that the states are afraid of the people that they serve, think again. Just when you thought that they had run out of stupid ideas to waste tax payer money, here is another fine WTF example:
…free wheels for welfare recipients program is revving up despite the stalled economy, as the keys to donated cars loaded with state-funded insurance, repairs and even AAA membership are handed out to get them to work.
Their is no monitoring of how the vehicle is used. It is assumed that the vehicle is used for transportation to and from employment.
I agree with one of the commentators USAFVET:
free car including insurance, AAA, inspection etc. is wrong. Let\’s try this: $50/month until the $6,000 is paid back. We won\’t even charge interest. If they lose the job, they work for their town, picking up trash, painting, cleaning, whatever until they get a new job in order to keep their benefits and the car.
But that makes way too much sense, doesn’t it?
Jammiewearingfool tosses in the following peanuts:
The Patrick administration decided last month to funnel an additional $30,000 to the nearly $400,000 annual car ownership program.
Forgot to tell you that if you lose your job, no problem because you get to KEEP the car.

Idiots every last one of them.

This is like a scaled down version of the ACORN/Fannie/Freddie scam. Think there’s an end in sight?
May 7, 2009 at 5:12 pm
No, Anthony I don’t believe that there is an end in sight. Scary!

May 7, 2009 at 7:18 pm
Supreme Court: OMG, raGing.

Mary, that raging is something else! LOL She’s all fired up now.
May 7, 2009 at 7:59 pm
Not his auntie raging. I’m sure she could have a car if she wanted one. She is disabled so she would also get a nifty handicapped parking sticker.

Guess who co chaired this BS?
Gov. Deval Patrick, a national co-chairman of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, teamed up with the Illinois senator to represent the controversy-plagued activist network ACORN in a 1993 case and secured money for the group in this year’s state budget, the Herald has learned.

After overtalking Glenn Beck yesterday for ten minutes, some white acorn honcho told Beck yesterday that he (Beck) was questioning acorn’s honesty because he (Beck) is “afraid of blacks.” Glenn kicked the ranting bum off the set.

Mary, that SOB uses that line every time he gets cornered. He used it on Fox’s Megan Kelly and she turned him off as well. CREEP!

The black caucus in Congress, Duvall Patrick, in meanchelle o’nothing have told us repeatedly that all blacks care about is blacks–and they expect the rest of us to care about nothing but blacks, also.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that following the White House controlled census, that blacks, who aere approximately 18% of the population, will magically be closer to 35%. What they think all those TV commercials featuring blacks are about? Is it isn’t to sell merchandise to only 18% of the population.
May 7, 2009 at 7:27 pm
bafaux, on the other hand, doesn’t give a shit about blacks, as Jesse Jackson figured out months ago. All he cares about is Muslims–his real brethren, to whom he is preparing to hand this country.
May 7, 2009 at 8:03 pm
Well, 0′s birth state now has Islam Day…we owe them.
May 7, 2009 at 8:53 pm
I haven’t heard about this. Can you supply any links or details?
May 7, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Found it. Thanks for the tip.
May 7, 2009 at 8:02 pm
Mary, 0 and Team 0 believe that we owe them. Is that racist?
May 7, 2009 at 8:51 pm
mcnorman,
To tell you the truth, I do not regard racism as the moral equivalent of murder, pedophilia, or abuse of animals, so I have never bought into this intimidation ploy.
May 7, 2009 at 9:05 pm
And yes, it is racist, on their part!
May 8, 2009 at 12:13 am
Honest citizens never do Mary. This is the first time in my life and I have lived a long time that I am witnessing this trash.
May 8, 2009 at 1:25 am
Agreed, mcn. The only time I’ve ever seen anything like this in my long life is when it came from the Ku Klux Klan and that ilk. America and Europe are dying of political correctness. And those people in Congress who are my age are replaying the Vietnam protest era. The younger ones are their children, the modern equivalent of red diaper babies.
May 8, 2009 at 3:06 am
Mary, it is as if they never grew up and the children refuse to grow up.
May 8, 2009 at 3:33 am
Of course, they already have this program in Michigan. Rural welfare recipients who have no access to transportation, welfare to work obsticals, something like that, is what got it started. The have a program that pays for car repairs, too. Mechanics donate their time.
May 9, 2009 at 12:15 am
Outstanding Swell, who is going to pick you up when your car stalls and breaks down in the middle of nowhere? I know that the intentions are good to begin with, but as with most things that are free in life, there is little regard for them.
May 8, 2009 at 9:51 pm
I have worked my whole life even when I had three kids—can I get in on this free car etc. thing—o thats right i work for a living i do not deserve a car to get back and forth to work, my drug dealers house or the package store
May 9, 2009 at 12:13 am
Working people, I think it is sad to say but you and I will not get a car because we ARE productive.
