Can we say desperate Sen. Feinstein?
California is booting out prisoners because they are overpopulated, but we can always make room for the Gitmo guys?
Why?

I don’t get why we have to bring them onto US soil, maybe I’m dense or missing something, but what’s the beef? If they’re not being treated right, in some people’s minds, in Gitmo, why not just change the conditions there and keep it open? Seems like an awful waste of money and potential security risk to transfer…..doesn’t seem worth it to me.

There is lots of Federal $$$ to be had by anyone who takes them. I think it is wrong and am in agreement with you. I think the undercurrent of having ease of facility to use the courts here is also another reason.

Think it might have something to do with $$$?
Lets see:
THE FIVE STEP PROGRAM
1) California is now one big broke-ass state,
2) Obama needs to actually deliver at least one of his campaign promises lest his Lemmings revolt, many of whom are in the entertainment industry in the Golden State
3) Feinstein is totally in the tank, despite desperate attempts to seem otherwise
4) The Gouvernator will take $ from anyone at the moment to save his reputation and/or political legacy, and
5) our tax dollars are financing the PR campaign of one Barack Hussein Obama, who will most likely shovel a lot of bucks into California for hosting detainees to offer proof of “Change we can believe in”.
Call me crazy, but I think there are dots to connect here.

You’re probably all right about that. It’s all about the $$$ (and all about Barry of course too!).
Here in California, I feel like we’ve almost been snubbed by Obama, even though so many of the Hollywood types who are his “friends” (does he really have any ‘real’ friends?) live here. ARRRnold went to DC, hat in hand, asking for some federal bucks and was told basically, lots of luck. I’ve thought maybe because Hillary won the Democratic primary here so his oneness is trying to punish us…..this might be a way for us under-the-bus Californians to see the glow of Barry’s halo, I mean the light of day.

Take the money and run. Forget following through on your end to house the detainees.
Just get the money. Won’t be around for long with the Dem struggle for 2010 coming up soon.
I can’t believe that is the same party I voted for my whole life…..

We are all feeling the same way Anthony. What happened? Where did they go? I feel abandoned.

I’m on the side of keeping them at Gitmo. Doesn’t matter to me that it has a bad reputation. It IS a military facility which in my opinion is where these people should stay.

How is it so hard to understand that illegal immigrants are not the concern of our elected representatives?
Except, that is, to get rid of them.
They. Are. Not. Citizens.

Whoops, left my previous comment on the wrong post…

No problem track. We understand.

wtf is Feinstein thinking?
on the news last night- CA is letting prisoners out on early release if they perform green jobs for cities that laid off public employees.
looks like Meg Whitman has the governor position in the bag.

Feinstein should get back on her meds pronto.
