What do you think?
The Hill reports that Vitter accuses Harry Reid of attempting to block a vote on the amendment, which might have serious consequences for California and other states with large populations of illegal aliens. Vitter claims that California got as many as five extra Congressional districts from the 2000 Census after their failure to determine status: Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), who is sponsoring an amendment to an appropriations bill that would require illegal immigrants list their status on next year’s Census, said late Wednesday that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wants them counted amongst the general population instead.

Do you really want to know what I think? It isn’t pretty.

Yes I do want to know. I assure you that my thoughts are far worse.

I think anyone who is surprised is a fool. Also, anyone who thinks this is any different for immigrants from China, India, Libya, or wherever is equally a fool. People always value their own culture first.

They are loyal to their country-as they should be. All the more reason to secure the border though. Funny, though, they pledge allegiance to a country even as they run away from it.

Not all rjjrdq. Many have served this country in time of war. Many have come to acquire education only to return to nothing in Mexico.
I believe once you have children here, and you have taken benefits for them from this country that the allegiance should be to the US. It is not for many Mexican Americans. That is unfortunate. I question why our country allows dual citizenship. Our own POTUS never decided to pledge his allegiance to this country, but he did allow another country to terminate his status at the age of 18. Of that I am sure or we would have seen his records by now. Once having been adopted by his stepfather in Indonesia, he had citizenship there.
Too many unanswered questions.
