We know this, but POTUS and this administration do not. Case in point: Reid bill: 16M uninsured U.S. citizens pay a penalty tax, 8M uninsured illegal aliens do not.

That’s terrific that you are quoting Keith Hennessey. In fact, I was just over there perusing the same article you were linking over to. Hennessey’s no slouch. He was Assistant to the U.S. President for Economic Policy and Director of the U.S. National Economic Council under George W. Bush and has worked on (successful) economic legislation for the better part of a decade….
As for the facts and circumstances in this case, the rate of growth of M1 – the money supply – is rapidly decreasing, while inflation is beginning to increase as GDP also increases. The economy is beginning to grow again – with one caveat. Unemployment continues to increase, which means that the ones who are now paying the price for recovery and will continue to do so are the chronically unemployed.
As to your reference to 8M uninsured illegal aliens, the precise terminology to describe them in the brave new world of health care speak is in terms of “shared responsibility payments” [SRP], i.e., taxes, fees, and penalties. As Keith pointed out, illegals are exempt from paying SRP, however, reading between the lines of the bill, there is no language which describes the exemption of illegals from participation in the system.
In plain speak, illegals are covered by the plan by the mere silence of the language from a patient/recipient point of view. Rather, the plan describes the method of dividing the SRP’s among those who pay the price.
In plain speak this means that illegals will continue to be covered for health care, and there will be those who will continue to be covered on the dole, i.e., paid not to work. Corporate America has made a simple calculation that it is cheaper in the long term to have high domestic unemployment and saddle the taxpayer with the expense of illegal aliens, who will continue to do the work that others either refuse to do or are priced out of the market.
I hope this makes sense. Dollars and cents, that is…

The path provided to health care coverage is under a provision called ‘affordability credits’….

I think the plan is amnesty, and then this will no longer be an issue. Cloward & Piven must be loving this.
