This is nothing more than massive butt kissing with the media elite that is going on … Nothing surprising, really. The Obama administration depends on them to keep their image intact despite the fact that they have been seriously busted for being a criminal front operation of the NWO.
The “Let Them Eat Cake” administration partying again I see…gee, would you even know we had soldiers fighting in 2 wars thousands of miles away from their families this Thanksgiving? I wonder how many homeless could have been fed with just the money spent on Michelle’s dress?
Imust, these people are creeps of the highest order. I hope that people will remember these pictures with the wanna be crashers. They have to be the most faux humans ever. Remember the picture of Michelle at Rashad Khalid’s dinner? She sure likes the nice stuff now.
First Ladies have been lavish (Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan) and they have been frugal (Betty Ford, Rosalynn Carter) and they have been in between (Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton). Their clothing is either donated or loaned by designers (Nancy Reagan accepted $3 million worth of gifts and loans of clothing), or they buy it themselves: they do not get free clothes from tax dollars.
They do get an extensive staff (MO’s costs taxpayers ~1.75 mil before benefits, Laura Bush’s cost us ~1 to 1.25 mil).
Jmo, but the number of WH staff ought to be fixed according to law, as well as their salaries. Likewise, the number of state dinners that an administration can have ought to be fixed according to law, as well as their cost.
I remember the thrift of both Betty Ford and Rosalynn Carter favorably; though they could not be said to be glamorous, they both seemed thoughtful and kind: worthy exemplars of First Ladies. I did not admire the over the top lavishness of the Reagans, the appalling callousness of Her Beautiful Mind Barbara Bush (she really does look like Alistair Crowley, one wonders), or BHO & MO.
I do believe that a state dinner ought to be elegant; it is meant to convey our nation’s appreciation to those representatives of another; but there is a limit. In times of a depression, there is more of a limit. In times of an engineered depression via which the Faux President and Faux First Lady are profiting, it is a very very small limit.
Frankly, my biggest problem with BHO & MO, IS that they are Faux President and Faux First Lady: they accepted happily a rigged primary that disenfranchised voters in exchange for serving as stooges to those who bankrolled them. And while these bankrollers are the greater problem, that does not mean BHO and MO are not traitors.
I liked MO’s dress, and I thought she looked very good. I thought designer Naeem Khan’s gratefulness was sincere. I was happy to learn that he is a naturalized American citizen of long standing in the US, that his business is based in the US. Although the embroidery was done in his father’s store in India, the dress was cut and sewn here in the US and doubtless employed Americans. These are all imo good things.
But they are still traitors and the lavish state dinner is the least of it.

Hey, I just called them the faux couple. It is not what you wear, but how you wear it. IMO under the circumstances, this was ridiculous. India has little confidence in our dollar (why pretend), the PM’s wife was dressed far more tastefully. This is not the time to be showing off anything. I get the feeling the Michelle will not be donating much of what she really likes. I agree, someone finally told Michelda what would look better on her. The gown is beautiful, but it is very hard to swallow when the economy is in the tank, particularly at this time of the year. We do agree Nom. All show and not much of anything else.
I was none to happy when Nancy bought new china either. Luckily, the historical society decided it be best to pay for her purchase.
It’s all well and good to say, hey, other prezes had state dinners too…and state dinners need to be elegant. However, all of these examples must be looked at in the context of the state of the country at the time. This state dinner was held right before Thanksgiving when our country is at war in two countries. Unemployment is the highest it’s been in decades, people are losing their homes. A smaller state dinner, with all of the elegance and pomp and circumstance would have, IMO, been more appropriate.
I think that even had far too much glam. Case in point, the party crasher couple that had a camera in tow. Ridiculous.
I don’t believe in austere, but I thought Michelle’s dress was too much. She should have worn that dress to the Inaugural Ball. Just my opinion.
Class and taste are NEVER defined by the $$$ amount of the clothing. These two have no class or taste. For all the above mentioned reasons imust, it would have been preferable to tone down the event. Really, what is Katie Couric doing at a state dinner? Payback?
Everything is a payback.
Yes, the guest list was chock full of media “stars” and our so-called “press” mixing with hollywood. The blurring of reality and fantasy, Madison Ave vs real policy substance…nauseating….State dinners should be just that, heads of State meeting cabinet members and other high level officials…..not a who’s-who-glamo-shindig. The only thing missing were the Greek columns and the faux seal.
Oops sorry, sometimes vodpod will not post more than the video. I did not make the video, a friend named vedicastrol sent it to me. Unfortunately, I don’t know where she got it.
Great posting , You’ve absolutely hit the
mark with this, I just don’t think that people quite get it.
I don’t know how many people I’ve talked to concerning this very
thing in the past month, and they just don’t understand.

” I agree, someone finally told Michelda what would look better on her. The gown is beautiful, but it is very hard to swallow “
Maybe if it were cut into smaller pieces? I agree – it is a H-U-G-E gown, albeit quite beautiful. Would look better on Ru, though, I think…
November 28, 2009 at 5:21 am
LOL, watch your fingers!!
November 28, 2009 at 5:29 am
Of course Ru would wear it better. Ru is stunning in a potato sack, there is just no comparison to how Ru wears clothes.
