Meanwhile, lots and lots of people can’t even feed themselves while Congress tries to push through a plan to pay off the pharmaceutical industry with taxes on foreign drugs and they call that health care reform. It’s so shameful, and yet they try to make you believe it is needed even though they have got to know that lots of people don’t even have the ability to earn a living. Here are the inconvenient truths…

There were 49 million people – 17 million of them children – last year unable to consistently get enough food to eat, according to a report released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture on November 16, 2009. This represents 14.6% of all households and is a 3.5-percentage-point jump over 2007. It is the largest recorded since the agency began measuring hunger in 1995.

Of those 49 million, 12 million adults and 5.2 million children reported experiencing the country’s most severe hunger, possibly going days without eating. Among the children, nearly half a million in the developmentally critical years under age 6 were going hungry. That’s three times the number in 2006.

The study documented both “low food security,” which describes people unable to consistently get enough to eat, and “very low food security,” in which people reported being hungry various times over the year but were unable to eat because there wasn’t enough money for food.

Welcome to the Obama Depression. It’s kind of like the Obama Deception, except these are the ones who are paying the price for the deception. Remember this when you watch the Senate on Saturday night debate whether to throw a whole new bunch of folks out onto the streets…

I have a dear friend that grew up during the Great Depression.  The father perished in a fire and the mother died in an accident.  The children were dispersed amongst ayslums and orphanages because there would always be meals and a bed.  The asylums provided shelter from the elements, but that was all.   If you were lucky, you got to work in a labor camp setting (foregoing pedophiles and abuse by seriously mentally ill patients), but if you were cute you were adopted.  Luckily, she was adopted.  The bed and the meals never made her feel lucky as she bears the deep, ugly scars of abuse.  As they say, she got over it.  As an adult, she managed to locate the her siblings who were middle aged by that time.  To say that they had difficult lives is saying it mildly. Their entire adult lives were spent under the shade of poverty as they had acquired the most basic of living skills.  They knew hunger all too well.  Never quite recovering from malnourishment and the disease that it brings, they passed within two years of their reunion.

I share this with you because we all hear about or know someone who is close to the precipice.  There is no worse feeling than hunger to live through day in and day out, particularly at night.  We should never forget that for many, this is a very real existence.

Our country is in the midst of great turbulence.  I agree with TDN…we will watch many who will pay the price for what these politicians do.  This administration in particular, has made it quite evident that they advocate for themselves (lifetime seats with the best perks available).

The Washington politician is isolated and they don’t walk your path or mine.     It is quite easy to overlook how quickly the Invisible People become invisible.

MICHELLE vs. OPRAH WAR.

A jealous first lady has frozen the talk queen out of the White House inner circle, say insiders. “Oprah is devastated,” revealed a friend.

“She had no idea that Michelle was so jealous about the influence she had on Barack. She hated the way her husband would huddle with Oprah over strategy and jump when she called.

“The jealousy and anger was eating up Michelle. During the campaign, she vowed Oprah would not be a part of the new administration.

FLOTUS is jealous and paybacks are bitch Oprah.  I don’t believe that the Lincoln bedroom needs a makeover either.

The meeting got off to a bad start when Oprah, 55, greeted Michelle. The TV host leaned to kiss her cheek, but the first lady stepped back and extended her hand instead.

How royal of you FLOTUS.

Then Michelle, 45, seemed to ignore a question Oprah asked about the Obama children, instead taking a question from an aide and then returning only to chat with Gayle again – ignoring or forgetting Oprah’s question.

By the end of the day, Oprah felt roundly snubbed.

“Since then, Oprah has tried again and again to mend the rift,” said the friend. “But she’s had no luck. Michelle has made it clear she is no longer interested in being friends with Oprah and is going to block her from access to the President.”

Note to Oprah…she was watching you all the time and the Obamas got what they wanted.  That’s all.  You are dismissed.
