The graph above is a temperature plot using some of the data not used by Hadley; it shows the absence of a warming trend.
The Climategate story just got bigger – from Rionovosta, via the Ria Novosti agency, posted on Icecap pdf and sent to us from the CEI in Washington (ain’t the internet wonderful!). It explains how the Met Office Hadley Centre appears to have been cherry-picking Russian temperature data, to pick the stations which show the warmer temperatures … a variation on “hide the decline”.
James Delingpole is running with it … and here, plus Big Government has an interesting piece. Now also done by WUWT. The original paper is here (in Russian), with a rough machine translation here.

Interestingly, it took the experience of being former communists to expose another neo-Marxist conspiracy, i.e., the climate change groupies. Your article below whose title is “Karma’s A Bitch” is perhaps also an appropriate title for this story as well…

Can you believe this? I am thrilled because we all know it takes one to know one!

Ria Novosti is a propaganda outlet: it is not a reputable source for scientific information or any other information.

Not just them Nom. Pravda is calling them out as well.

read link: Russia has numerous propaganda sources including pravda. Anyway, I am not saying some, possibly many, scientists do not cherry pick data.
the original climate gate was also sourced from russia, does that not indicate something of an agenda to you?
neither of these incidents eliminate all data from consideration, and the preponderance of data says that climate change is real, and humans have likely some role in it.
And for everyone hoping people are not causing it, hope again. Because the only part we can affect is the part we are causing.

The amount that human activities are involved in climate alteration is certainly arguable. Climate change is not.

I remember long, long ago. When ADD was yet to be written, we were working on the test stats for our study population. I learned that stats can and will be changed to further the cause. I think Pravda is a tool, always has been. Like NNIC, I think it is funny that they get called out by the Russians.

perhaps you might look up UNCLOS 4, the difference in number of Russian and US icebreakers, and research the growing militarization of the arctic to protect oil and gas that are now accessible due to warming in the not-really-a-no-man’s land since most of the world has agreed upon its disposition already.
there are many sources of information that show warming is real besides the scientific sources that apparently persona non grata: mil blogs, shipping blogs, economic blogs…

Hey nom, is that the preponderance of data that was “lost”??

I don’t know of a field in which some members don’t take liberty with facts/ commit fraud/ steal/ cheat /lie etc to enhance their revenue.
Contractors will build projects not according to specs to save costs, politicians will take bribes from lobbyists against the wishes of their constituents, and scientists will falsify data to satisfy their patrons or make a name for themselves.
That being said, if you do not consider that permafrost melting is evidence of climate change, then there is really nothing one can say.
If you want to get scientific information from political websites rather than scientific journals, blogs, lectures from scientists, etc, that’s your business.

Well how convenient to omit such data! Why isn’t mainstream media reporting this information? Too damaging for certain pocket books and egos?
December 19, 2009 at 2:41 am
Too much $$$ that has been promised will not find its way into those pockets if we know what they are doing.
