DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that “the system worked.”

Asked by CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union” how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: “We’re asking the same questions.”

Young, privileged, educated Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab had the world at his feet.

Instead, the son of one of Nigeria’s most important figures opted to make his impact in a very different way – by detonating 80g of explosives sewn into his underpants, and trying to destroy a passenger jet as it came in to land at Detroit Airport on Christmas Day

Abdulmutallab, 23, had lived a gilded life, and, for the three years he studied in London, he stayed in a £2m flat. He was from a very different background to many of the other al-Qa’ida recruits who opt for martyrdom. Via Wealthy, quiet, unassuming: the Christmas Day bomb suspect.

I can see that match.com bio now when he is released from prison for commission of a crime (Eric Holder’s new definition of terrorism). Wealthy, educated, unassuming, slightly disfigured, burnt snarklies…a result of poor judgment.

So, why did this clown have a Visa and a ticket to fly into this country when he had been denied one in England?

Abdulmutallab has been on a list of persons with terrorist connections for around two years, and in November, his father, former economics minister of Nigeria and former Chairman of the First Bank of Nigeria, reported his son’s radical politics and possible terrorist sympathies to the American embassy in Nigeria. The elder Abdulmutallab says that he is “‘surprised’ his son had been allowed to travel after he had reported him to the authorities.” And Great Britain refused to grant Abdulmutallab a visa when he tried to return to England in May.

Obama’s classification for misunderstood. Hey, remember England said NO VISA to Bill Ayers?

The kid waited until the plane was almost on approach to Detroit. He didn’t want to pull this job off, which would have meant detonating the device over water after takeoff with full fuel on board…

Instead, he waited to do it at almost the end of the flight. He wanted to increase his chances for survival yet please his “bosses” by going through with it anyway…

Right this moment, there is no way to tell what the motive was behind this. It looks and smells very fishy. Of course, the Yemen connection is crystal clear. First there was Ft. Hood, but remember – that one was a sleeper cell. There were a bunch of others who got caught. Reports were being leaked back then about Yemen, and finally Obama had to admit in public, albeit secluded conveniently in Hawaii, that his Afghanistan venture is not where the action is…

The bottom line is that Obama is going to have to come back from his vacation and explain how he missed this one, and how many other terror operations are in the works because after all he is in bed with the Lebanese government supplying them weapons, which by the way are finding their way into the hands of Hezbollah, who also by the way have been recruited by Iran into the war (yes, let’s call it what it is) – war, in Yemen…

Lots of explaining for the big Zero to do…

Geez NNIC, how is Meechelle going to take having to cut her vacay short? You’re right, Zero has much explaining to do. Yemen is another war. Nom said it as well. I suppose if we all scream loud enough, the White House might call it that as well.

just imagine if a white American male (or woman) had tangled with the jihadi. the extra few seconds wrestling with crippling PC guilt could have been fatal to over 300 ppl.
sounds like this just happened! a Nigerian barracaded himself in the plane lavatory. when the crew kicked in the door they were called racist.

  The possibility of more than one terrorist on board (atleast that is what happened on 9/11), you go for it. I can tell you I wouldn’t hesitate. PC out the door. I think if you are truly perceptive and watching the scenario play out, those behaving oddly will stand out like a sore thumb.

One needs facts before establishing a narrative.
The president of Yemen has recruited al Qaeda to fight the Houthi, he is a major source of weapons smuggling in the region fueling the various wars, and he is one of the largest smugglers to Hamas.
He and the House of Saud are the ones on whose behalf we are bombing the Houthi.
