Taliban leaders could be offered exile abroad and have their names deleted from a UN sanctions blacklist as part of a peace plan for Afghanistan to be unveiled in London next week.
A briefing paper on the Afghan government’s proposals seen by The Daily Telegraph says any peace deal may include “potential exile in a third country” for insurgent leaders.
The document does not name any country, but Saudi Arabia, which recognised the former Taliban regime, is believed to be a possible candidate to give leaders a new life.

Oh that will be good, it will make it so much easier for them to blow up people. I wonder how long it will be before they get visa’s for the US?

Soon I’m sure Nunly. What are these people thinking? This is not a peace plan.

Obama floated a similar idea last year. But instead of exile, he wanted to integrate them into the Afghan government. Is there any doubt why countries like Iran and North Korea can be so brazen, and insurgents in Afghanistan can be so confident they will prevail over U.S. forces?
Surrender? That’s not a peace plan.

He has everything WRONG on the Taliban. I don’t know who advises this man, but this is a move in that wrong direction.
