He details how he and wife Cheri briefly returned to Raleigh, N.C., in July 2008 to clear out the house where Hunter had briefly lived before their December 2007 escape from the media. Young claims they found a box Hunter had left behind, which included some videotapes, in a pile of trash.
“It [the tape] was cut and pulled … out,” Cheri Young told ABC News, “We… taped it back together and we played it.”
“The senator tried to convince her to have an abortion. … He tried to convince me to convince Rielle to have an abortion,” Young told Woodruff.
Young claims that Edwards was infuriated with him for not convincing Hunter and stressed that he was not certain the baby was his because Hunter was a “weird slut and a freak.”
Hunter had started out eager just to be around Edwards, but over time became more comfortable in her role as Edwards’ lover — even wife — having sex in the Edwards’ marital bed, according to Young. Eventually, she became possessive and demanding, Young claims.
Young also maintains that Edwards had also asked him to arrange a fake a paternity test. “Get a doctor to fake the DNA results,” Young said Edwards told him. “And he asked me … to steal a diaper from the baby so he could secretly do a DNA test to find out if this [was] indeed his child.”
Told ya.
Sources have told Gawker that, “in the throes of their affair, John Edwards and Rielle Hunter made a sex tape that contains ‘several sex acts.’ And that his aide, Andrew Young found it on an unmarked DVD.”
Up until he discovered the DVD, says one of our sources, Young’s devotion was typical of the “cultish” fervor Edwards brought out in his staffers. This is why, says our source, who is close to Hunter, major media organizations could not stand up the affair story despite well-intentioned efforts. “They [staffers] would do anything to stop it coming out — they lied, they bullied, they called reporters’ editors and bad-mouthed them, they exchanged access.”
When John Edwards blames Bush, it takes on a whole different and oh so icky meaning.
Truth be known, nobody really cared about his affair because he would not be the chosen one in the end.

I’ll lay odds that Obama had a copy of that DVD. There would be no other reason for Edwards to throw Hillary under the bus and support Obama.

At the rate that this POTUS is tanking thanks in large part to the MSM I am not surprised at how they need to do damage control with three years left.
They tried hard to sell JE, but they must have known all along. This guy was careless and he did not care which tells me that he felt he was free to do as he pleased because the DNC would not sell him out.

I have a feeling that Young is going to sell the tape to the highest bidder because he will need money now that Edwards’ connections are no longer funding his loyalty. I’m sure he’s doing it to keep his children clothed and fed but how does he rationalize this behavior if he wants them to have integrity?

Oh dear, delve deeper and you will understand that Young put himself into this position as hundreds do. They seek to share in whatever power they are assigned. Tallulah, you sound like you are truly a caring individual (not snark either). Young was a devotee of JE. Even before all of this happened, the surrounding groupies to JE could easily see how this man was out of control serving his master. Others had spoken long ago about Young and his obsession to be around JE. JE didn’t see him as very useful except when it came to keeping things quiet around his family. Yes, he trusted him with his family because this man was perfect tool. He would do ANYTHING to keep JE on track to POTUS.
Yes, Young has now gotten to a more mature level and has been tossed aside like a used rag towel. Sad for someone as old as Young to have this happen. He had a career ahead of him, but he chose to be JE’s lackey instead. The book royalties will help him for awhile. The sale of the tape would help him for a bit longer. As for integrity, he is desperate. He is a pariah and a liability now. When you hit bottom, there is no way but up. I feel for the man. If he was my son, I would have been ashamed of what he was doing for JE to begin with. He reaped what he sowed. Tallulah, we are all give choices. What we do is up to us, no one forced JE to be an adulterer. No one forced Young to write a book.
