President Obama’s First Year: Keeping Faith in the White House – ABC News.
“My Faith and Neighborhood Initiatives director, Joshua DuBois, he has a devotional that he sends to me on my BlackBerry every day,” Obama said. “That’s how I start my morning. You know, he’s got a passage, Scripture, in some cases quotes from other faiths to reflect on.”
Keeping the faith in quiet moments of worship may be the best Obama can do given the realities of the presidency that make it nearly impossible to join a church without inflicting a heavy burden on taxpayers, fellow churchgoers and his own spiritual life, sources say.
Let’s not kid ourselves, this is not about security and how much money it will cost the taxpayers. We have seen them all spend like shopaholics gone wild for whatever they deem is necessary at the moment. It’s never enough as long as it is someone else footing the bill. $10 million for White House parties in one year? POTUS and FLOTUS have no interest in doing anything on Sunday but playing.

Does he send it in English or Arabic Barry?
January 29, 2010 at 9:04 pm
ArabicBerry is preferable rjjrdq.

How come POTUS can end a sentence with a preposition and I can’t :<)!
Oh, I am so edified, so enamored, so absolutely just 'vahklumped' that BO starts his morning with a "devotional"…may from Marx, or Ho Chi Min or Che Guevera?
Ooops, am I being "naughty" again?
Read the Sacred Scriptures, Barry…you'll find lotsa good info there; and maybe, just maybe you'll repent. God is good and patient.
The rest of us? Not so much!

I think Nunly is right…he believes he’s Jesus. If he has time to play, vacay and party, where is the time to teach his children about faith? His time spent in Rev Wright’s church was all for show. Shameful.
January 30, 2010 at 9:11 am
Yeah, notice, quotes from “some other faiths”…..which ones Barry? All past presidents went to church without any problem. No one would begrudge him time at church. Lets face it, his favorite church is the first tee.
January 30, 2010 at 11:48 am
I noticed that right away imust. I wonder how much comes from the Quran?
January 30, 2010 at 11:23 am
jmo there is something indescribably creepy as a blackberry being seen as emblematic of America.
January 30, 2010 at 11:52 am
You have a good point Nom.
January 31, 2010 at 11:05 am
Maybe they worship Monday-Saturday in the Obama family? And what’s the harm of his church is the first tee. Better he go to a church he likes because of genuine fellowship than to be superficial and phony, no?
January 31, 2010 at 5:13 pm
It is the fact that the man refuses to allow the world to know him for who he is. All we know is that he is an image created for the office of POTUS. For all we know, they worship the garden in the back.

[...] No, he is listening to his BlackBerry. [...]

You know, I don’t think the 1st family ever selected a Washington D.C. home church.
Oh well I guess that is best because it sure would P.O. their Iman at their D.C. mosque!
Just kidding!
Maybe it is the truth though!
February 1, 2010 at 7:05 pm
They have not chosen a church. They use the excuse that it would be an expense that the taxpayer doesn’t need. What a load when they spent millions on parties.
February 1, 2010 at 7:45 pm
Yeah, what a crock of…..
Let them cut out “Date Nights” and those 17 vacations each month…..
Obama would be safer in a church for sure and it would be cheaper for the taxpayer to boot!
February 1, 2010 at 10:11 pm
Absolutely bs.
February 2, 2010 at 1:26 am
I’m just glad that the First Family is free to work, worship and socialize in a manner that doesn’t denigrate or insult anyone.
What could be the problem with that?
February 2, 2010 at 7:19 am
The man was raised Muslim. His campaign did NOT want to raise the issue. To be honest, I think it would have been a problem to acknowledge. I don’t think he would have won being honest. Please Tallulah, have you read up on Black Liberation Theology? The roots are deep. The hate is horrid. Are you completely unaware of Rev Wright? 20 years in a church and you never listen to a word that the man is saying? That is an insult to the American public.
Tallulah, I am not a supporter of POTUS. Never was. I find the man to be an utter disgrace, but then again I find politics to be a swamp dwelling for them. Whatever you are, own it. That is what being “real” means. That is not what POTUS is. He is a creation of the MSM.
February 2, 2010 at 11:08 pm
As the MSM practices its craft of selling narratives, then everyone in the public eye is suspect.
I can live with that.
February 3, 2010 at 7:40 am
They don’t practice their craft objectively, that is the problem. If we want the knowledge, we must search for it because the MSM has not done their job in the past and won’t do it in the future. Newspapers are dying. Journalism is dead. I agree, everyone in the public eye should be suspect. Public life should mean being an open book, not just the yearbook summary.
February 4, 2010 at 11:12 pm
Well that ship has long sailed.
February 5, 2010 at 7:56 am
Yes, the ship left a long time ago. It’s time for something else.
February 3, 2010 at 7:47 am
I find the WH behavior appalling. Pulling stories so that the public will not suspect is just par for the course.

Listen to this story on NPR dictating the narrative on a costal town.
February 4, 2010 at 11:07 pm
this is not the first or last time that a WH has been successful in managing editorial.
This is how power in America works.
February 5, 2010 at 7:55 am
I think changes are coming TallulahBankhead. I believe that the MSM never really thought that people would let them die (aka newspapers, tv networks), but it is happening. Look at CBS. They shilled for this administration with fervor in during the election. Now, Katie has to take a cut in pay. Older people are on the net and are not taking kindly to being force fed junk anymore. I hope it continues. It makes for a more informed country. That is never bad.
