Unemployment in the Great Recession.
Cooley and Rupert comment: “Although job losses slowed in December, there is no evidence of recovery in employment. This will be a continuing drag on the economy and on the fiscal condition of both state and federal governments.”
In his most recent column, Cooley asks where job growth will come from. Nor surprisingly, Cooley urges that “policies designed to create new jobs in the economy should be directed at encouraging new firms.” I see no evidence that such policies will be forthcoming from the federal government in the next year. On the contrary, among other things, the tax increases built into Obama’s budget will discourage new firms.

The “surface” president has his hands full. Too bad that in his mind he still thinks he is doing a good job.

Yes, must make those big decisions about when to shoot hoops and golf ya’ know.

The more unemployed, the more dependence on government- exactly what they want- to own the world and every soul in it.

Exactly PMM. That is the goal…take us by the snarklies and squeeze until there is no energy left to fight with.

O-what’s-his-name’s handlers on Wall Street are all that really matters in this insidious game of winner take all…
Of course, his Muslim roots keep shining through as he struggles through repeating his lines each day, most all of which are laced with Marxist propaganda eerily reminiscent of the days which formed the cornerstone of the modern Islamic psyche…
A perfect combination of money, power, and above all – a populace that is by and large rendered impotent in the face of the almost impenetrable smokescreen of lies and deceit, despite the fact that many of them, as you so eloquently pointed out, are being economically relegated to the ash heap of what used to be known as the uniquely American capitalist economic system…

Speaking of Muslim roots, you posted on his latest and greatest appointment known as the most ardent Muslim in the administration. Must feel good to be close to one’s BFFs.
The money/populace combo is perfect for the picking. This man has robbed us of more than money, economy, and rights. He has taken everything he possibly can get his hands on, and now all that is left at this point is our souls. God help us all.

I saw this on the Internet today:
1.2 million jobless workers will become ineligible for federal unemployment benefits in March unless Congress extends the unemployment safety net programs from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). By June, this number will swell to nearly 5 million unemployed workers nationally who will be left without any jobless benefits.
…
Currently, 5.6 million people are accessing one of the federal extensions (34-53 weeks of Emergency Unemployment Compensation; 13-20 weeks of Extended Benefits, a program normally funded 50 percent by the states).
It also doesn’t help that when Obama and his moronic economic team came up with idiotic ideas like “cash for clunkers” and allowed buyers to use that cash to buy cars not made in the US, they didn’t figure out that it wouldn’t help employment in the US.
New jobs are not being created and that asinine line about “jobs saved” is a bunch of bullcrap.
I really fear for those who are on unemployment and it’s running out. Where will they go? Even unemployment insurance doesn’t help that much, it’s like giving someone a blood transfusion with watered down blood. It only pays 1/3 of your past income. For some, they can get by on that, but once they pay into Cobra to keep their health insurance, that money is almost gone. So what do they pay? Mortgage/rent, food, or medicine? They can’t have all of them, they must choose. Food stamps only pay for edible items…toiletries, etc. is not covered. So, they an eat…they just can’t wipe their ass.
Sad…so very sad.

Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase won’t be opening up any shelters any time too soon, you can count on that…

That man should be the one on the streets, he has always lived off the tax payer. I am sure that is why he doesn’t want his financial aid records for college disclosed.

Rest assured that Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase will not be opening up any shelters. Nunly you must see these videos. This is all so criminal.

New Trucking Index Suggests Rough Road Ahead
A new economic index that tracks tangible information — U.S. trucking activity — rather than intangibles such as consumer confidence is not painting a pretty picture. The barometer, which gives an accurate read of goods being trucked throughout the country, fell at a 36.8% annual rate in January…

That’s freakin’ fantastic. Does anyone at the White House understand what this article means? Thank you for the link Buttered.

I know Obama doesn’t understand jack shit about the economy. After listening to him in the debates when he was talking about capital gains taxes, I knew we were in very big trouble. He’s totally clueless.
And then I saw Hillary talking on some show about economics and she was amazing, she had an intelligent answer for every question asked. I’m always amazed at how smart she is.

Yet, the assclown sits as POTUS. The DNC gave us the shaft. I knew it from the moment I attended a caucus. It was all downhill from there on out.
