UPDATE: FLOTUS visits with Mexico’s First Lady. They visit with second graders and one kid inadvertently outs her mom. No papers…OOPS. Why couldn’t one of those kids asked FLOTUS about POTUS’s papers?
“Our people?”
Felipe, fix your country and keep the people happy so that they stop running away. Felipe, you are a hypocrite and a coward. Face the cartels and stop aiding and abetting them against the people of Mexico. Fix your corrupt government. I promise you that if you fix it, you will be able to thrive as they will stay.
Mexico’s WHINER Presidente in his own words.

I just knew you would have this up.
Love the headline but I wouldn’t want the rabies.

Or fleas.
May 19, 2010 at 10:24 am
OMG! It’s not like Mexican-American CITIZENS will be thrown in the hoosecow! Geez….I’m so sick of the whining!! Think about real discrimination, like the Japanese- Americans who where forced into concentration camps during WWII….now, compare that to being asked for your ID and paperwork when you are pulled over for a traffic violation…..OH THE INHUMANITY OF IT ALL!!!!! THEY ASKED FOR MY, MY, MY….ID!!!!!
May 19, 2010 at 11:01 am
This is nothing new. California also has a similar law in place that they refuse to enforce. The request is only made if there is a problem. I never have a problem showing my ID to anyone anywhere. I say to anyone whining, get in line at the back and do it right so that you have nothing to worry about.

Even as our politicians are owned by our oligarchs, Calderon is owned by Mexico’s oligarchs; and it is Mexico’s oligarchs who run the cartels, & own the police and military as well as the government. There’s not sh#t-all Calderon can do about it even if he wants to (of which there is little sign).
None of these rulers is going anywhere unless we–that is to say, ordinary citizens– make them, a process that would necessitate our controlling both the military and the police as well as massive refusal to pay taxes or work.
If one cannot imagine this happening here, why would one imagine it would happen in Mexico?
Americans make Mexican cartels profitable. That is the unpalatable truth. And we have our own cartels. The opium/ heroin trade based in Afghanistan is ours. The difference in Mexico and the US is that our operations are out of sight of most of our populace. That’s it.
sure, Fuck Calderon. I agree. But Fuck every last US politician as well, and all our little drug runners, and users, too. Not a one of them puts the liberty of his nation over profit or personal gratification.
May 19, 2010 at 11:07 am
Disagree Nom. False argument that it is only about drugs. I know the historical corruption of Mexico. It is about the upper crust continuously pillaging and plunging their country into hell. We are speaking about centuries here. It has not always been drugs Nom. Go back to the days of Benito Juarez and look into his coffers. Look at his crown that he had commissioned.
May 19, 2010 at 11:53 am
I did not say it was only drugs.
May 19, 2010 at 11:54 am
I don’t think many understand that drugs are a small but significant part of this country’s problems. If the drug money didn’t prop Mexico up, they would have already succumbed to civil war. I can’t find the link, but 40% of the economy is not based on the drug trade.
May 19, 2010 at 11:55 am
your “upper crust continuously pillaging and plunging their country into hell” are my “Mexico’s oligarchs who run the cartels, & own the police and military as well as the government”
May 19, 2010 at 11:56 am
Now, the cartels are the upper crust Nom. They own the army of Mexico as well.
May 19, 2010 at 11:57 am
My not very well expressed apparently point was that Mexico’s problems come from the top: pointing the finger at the bottom in the persons of the illegals is completely useless, if we don’t do anything about the top; whereas if we did something about the top the effect would reach down to the bottom.
May 19, 2010 at 11:57 am
that’s what I said.
May 19, 2010 at 11:59 am
I understand what you are saying Nom. However, the security of the borders should be priority. It is not. Hasn’t been since Tricky Dick was in office.
May 19, 2010 at 12:20 pm
the border is 2000 miles long. it isn’t going to be secured. it would have to be armed along the entire length.
maybe it will be controlled in the future with autonomous weapons systems, but that’s hardly a day to which one should look forward.
besides, a barrier that can keep everyone out can also be used to keep us in.
our “government” is a bigger threat than any terrorist anyway.
May 19, 2010 at 12:29 pm
So, let the Army take on the border. I’m all for it.
May 19, 2010 at 12:41 pm
Carlos Loret de Mola’s El Negocio: La Economía de México Atrapada por el Narcotráfico states that the income of the 4 major cartels is 17x that of billionaire Carlos Slim (who was of curse recently promoted to teh status of richest man in the world).
May 19, 2010 at 12:41 pm
lol, I meant “of course”, but maybe “of curse” is better.
May 19, 2010 at 2:09 pm
omg nom, that was funny.
May 19, 2010 at 10:30 am
Ya know, when we were making arrangements for my son to go to Sweden in the fall for his Studies Abroad in college, we went to a meeting where they discussed all the things we had to do prior to his trip. We had to get a passport, apply for a resident pass (it’s like a Visa) and make the arrangements for travel. They made it very clear, ALWAYS have a copy of your Passport and Resident Pass on you while in Sweden. In case of traveling outside of Sweden to other countries, ALWAYS carry your original Passport and Resident Pass with you. They made it clear…”You will be asked to show those papers and you must have them or be arrested.
Now, I don’t see anyone from the University boycotting countries abroad because they demand this information from those who are not citizens of their countries. But for us? We are supposed to open the flood gates to anyone who cries “racism”, even when they are here illegally.
We are doing all that is required in order to have my son visit another country, and we aren’t the least bit upset about it or feel that my son is being “violated” by their government.
May 19, 2010 at 11:08 am
Only in America will a POTUS bow down to the wishes of a foreign government Nunly. It’s all about that vote and after last night, I am sure that the Dems are very worried. Anyone crying racism because of an ID request is foolish. They sure don’t mind turning over that ID when asked for by POTUS, now do they?
May 19, 2010 at 11:20 am
If I were one of those students, I’d ask to see this birth certificate and ID as well!
May 19, 2010 at 11:55 am
Yeah, him first.
May 19, 2010 at 2:05 pm
{{{{NUNLY}}}} You’re back!!!!!!
May 19, 2010 at 2:34 pm
Hey Nunly!
May 19, 2010 at 4:35 pm
Well said, and what a wonderful experience for your son!
We show ID (a state-issued driver’s license is sufficient identification) all the time here in the US: to open a bank account, get a library card, to enroll in college, to be coupled with tickets (that could be stolen) for prime seats at sporting events or concerts, to have anything notarized, to cash a check, to use a debit card, to check into a motel or hotel, to board a plane, to be on public school grounds (even your own child’s school), to rent a car, to enter a tournament, and many other situations. Any US citizen who traveled to Vancouver, Canada for the 2010 Winter Olympic games needed proper identification to cross the US-Canada border; Americans going into Mexico for the day to shop need a passport or a I-551 Permanent Resident Card to legally re-enter the US. All US and Canadian citizens, regardless of age, traveling by air between Mexico and the United States are required to present a passport.
Why aren’t illegal alien supporters objecting to any of that, but feel that illegal aliens should be protected from providing ID when all legal citizens provide it all the time… there’s the rub.
Easy answer. It’s because it will prove that they are here illegally, and that’s the whole endgame to this charade. That illegal aliens shouldn’t have to abide by the law, they should be allowed to skate, should be allowed to be here illegally. Screw borders, sovereignty, and comparison of border laws of every other country on the face of the earth… including the tyranny of Mexico’s laws.
It’s all about votes for Democrats – they don’t care squat about “human rights” or “racial profiling.” Smoke screen, boys and girls – they are desperate to own the next century of voters.
May 19, 2010 at 1:05 pm
according to google news, the visit and speech by President Calderon was “marred by poor translation”.
chit, doesn’t this administration get ANYTHING right???

Anthony is ssssoooooooo much fun.
May 19, 2010 at 2:11 pm
Bahahahaha leslie, that makes my day.
Is this the new social secretary’s fault or who else can they blame?Ahh, it was Felipe’s own translator. Outstanding. Bam’s intro to this guy was so blah. It sounded as if he was asking the next door neighbor to a BBQ. The elected elite of Mexico are used to being treated as monarchs. Surprised stupid didn’t bow.May 19, 2010 at 4:22 pm
My money is on Bo the First Dog being the one wrote it. Anyone else on Team Obama with speech writing skills is busy concocting 999 more ways that an idiot Democrat official can creatively state, “No, I haven’t read the Arizona law.”
May 19, 2010 at 5:02 pm
Geez, I’ll bet they have the presses going and Amazon set to sell it asap. lol
May 19, 2010 at 2:08 pm
I read this “Arizona Immigration Law ‘Is Forcing Our People to Face Discrimination’.” And said-
Wait a minute! Guess he hasn’t read the bill either. Nowhere in the bill does it give anybody in AZ authority to hold Mexicans at gunpoint and force them to come over the border as illegals.
May 19, 2010 at 2:12 pm
No, stupid Felipe has NOT read the bill.
May 19, 2010 at 3:40 pm
And if they are “his people” can he please take them back when he goes home? That way they won’t have to face any “discrimination” from the ugly Americans in Arizona.
May 19, 2010 at 3:44 pm
Well, that would be nice.

Can Felipe even read English? I didn’t see his lips move (either it was a translator voiceover or Felipe is a ventriloquist).
I love how he is issuing “travel warnings” for those who want to come from Mexico to the US (he didn’t specify if they would be coming legally or illegally). Because showing ID is SO much more dangerous and inhuman than being in the crosshairs of automatic rifles in the escalating bloody war between the Mexican police and the drug cartels right now. Innocent Mexican citizens are being murdered every day as this battle wages.
Choice: show ID or run & hide from hostile gun fire? Yes, Felipe, it is *cough, cough* so much more dangerous for Mexicans to come here than stay out of the path of bullets in your own corrupt, third-world, out of control country.
May 19, 2010 at 5:06 pm
Make no mistake, many of the upper crust in Mexico are schooled at the most exclusive boarding schools in the world. Many also go to school in the US.
Funds are never a problem for these children. Masters from Harvard…of course the dweeb knows English. Make no mistake, this is a performance for the left.
