Well, not for me, for my daughter. I hope you don’t mind, but today is her day. I’ll be back in few days. Whew, the guest speaker was NOT Al! lol

I hope to god that Alvin wasn’t giving the commencement address.
May 22, 2010 at 7:47 am
DE, I was totally dreading that. ROFL I kept thinking and thinking about what I would do if it was someone like Alvin.
May 21, 2010 at 3:30 pm
Enjoy! You have both worked hard for it! And what DE said! I hope the commencement speaker is someone honest and loyal and true!
May 22, 2010 at 7:46 am
Thank you PMM. The commencement speaker was okay, but the student speaker was a outstanding. Interesting that the kid would be better than the other, but given that several of the highest honored speakers are downers I was not surprised. This kid expressed “real” hope with no unrealistic expectations.

Great news! Congratulations to you both.
(and what DE and PMM said)

Gosh we’re all proud of her McNorman!!! Congrats to you both, it’s a wonderful feeling isn’t it? I’ve been there with one of mine, hopefully a second soon. I hope you both have a fantastic weekend.

Yes, somebody it is fantastic. Thank you so much for your thoughts. She’s off for the next round…law school. It’s been a huge adventure I tell you.
May 22, 2010 at 7:45 pm
Law School! WOW! Thats great! Is she going to be far away from home? Or will you get to see her fairly often? My only child was a 4 hour drive away from home when he was in college. Okay, I actually mean 4 for me, more like 3 & 1/2 for him — which wasn’t too awful.
May 22, 2010 at 8:56 pm
Law school is far away Trac. I have been thinking about this for a very long time. She is the only child and she has been far from home for a very long time (8 hours) away. That’s driving at 90mph and three fillups. Now, she will be a day’s flight away. Hopefully, she will make it home for the holidays. sigh Ah, she is something else so I won’t worry too much. She tech savvy and always keeps me up to date so I don’t feel too distant. Still a parent always wants them closer.
