no, I am the taxpayer whose property rates keep climbing, and whose fees on everything keep increasing to pay for their excess lifestyle (big city projects like lightrail systems that won’t work here without bulldozing thousands of people’s homes (maybe mine) but will bring in plenty of bums near my home (they’ve been attempting to locate a rail center near my home for 10 years), giant sports arenas that once built are never big enough and require the immediate commencement of new even more giant ones, more schools with more fancy shit for their spoiled kids, destruction of every scenic spot in the state with their godawful tacky mcmansions on every ridgeline… Go away out of staters, go AWAY or freaking DIE, but GO!!!

unfortunately, we’re getting a massive influx of people who are much richer than the average person here. they bulldoze everything in their demand for shopping and fancy condos, and think the supply of trees is endless. they cut all their own down apparently and think groupings of more than 2 together are a forest.
then they move into their gated communities and whine about the trashy (native NC) neighbors.
ugh, I wish they’d all just drop dead.

we get leaf peepers and beachgoers seasonally (not crazy about them either), but I mean fuckers coming here to stay because the unemployment in the big cities here is, relatively speaking, low. These people come from NY and CA where a million dollars actually isn’t the most ginormous salary in the world, and come here with their 2-3 mil in savings, and live like kings. that is, until enough of the fuckers come and ruin everything, bulldoze all the trees, and drive all the prices up to like the hellholes from where they originate.

I live in north Florida and have my entire life, things have certainly changed.
I had a fight with this loud mouth old man from NYC. He wanted a new highway and felt putting through the middle of my neighborhood was just fine and dandy. He was on an advisory board so he had the power. He also had the money to finance elected officials and have a study done to support the road.
He actually called me down at a meeting telling me how the road had to be built to accommodate all the new people like me. Oh yea all those assholes had lived here only a couple of years, I’ve been here my entire life….but take my house instead of going around my neighborhood because you might have drive an extra mile or two, assholes!! They all egg on their faces when I went around the room asking how long they’d lived here and then told them I grew up here!
Not that they really cared they forged ahead. In the end I managed to get the road killed at the regional level, where as luck would have it I knew almost everyone on that board, LOL!! Those old men were so pissed when I stood up to oppose the road at the regional planning board and I didn’t even have to give a presentation, LOL!! The vice-chairman whom I had served with on many boards back during a previous time in my life, stopped me and asked if I opposed the road. I told him yes and that there were alternates. He said if I opposed it that’s all he needed to know and most of the rest of the board agreed. They made a motion and killed the road, LOL!!
So yes I completely understand where you are coming from. Speaking of roads and Yankees, do you have a bunch of rotaries in your area??? OMG these Yankee love them some rotaries, we have them all over the place now and they suck. If you see proposals for any in your area fight them!!!
