11 hours and 5 minutes later.
WIMBLEDON, England — When John Isner finally won the longest match in tennis history, he collapsed on the Wimbledon grass and then summoned one last burst of energy, springing to his feet to applaud along with the crowd.
The American hit a backhand winner to win the last of the match’s 980 points, and he took the fifth set Thursday against Nicolas Mahut, 70-68.

I watched until the 9th hour. The sun was setting and the French guy asked to stop. The American still wanted to play. lol

I heard that 6.5 hours they took an unprecedented bathroom break. (I’d have needed about 6 by that time.) lol

Hah, my bladder wouldn’t have lasted two hours, so I know exactly what you are saying leslie.

What struck me about the match was the quality of play, officiating, and sportsmanship displayed. It’s a shame someone had to lose!

I hate that I can’t see it. When we first subscribed to cable, it was to watch Wimbledon. Now, cable is so expensive, I can’t watch it anymore. I did hear that “it was a shame someone had to lose”.

leslie, I watched it on the internet…ESPN.com
They ran a live feed throughout. It was great. I wish I had posted that link. Sorry.

Thanks mcn. I’ll look for it on ESPN this weekend. It’s been so hard at work that I wouldn’t have a chance to watch it. I haven’t had those all important bathroom breaks, either. ugh…

I’m going to have to figure out how this retention works. lol I watched it while I was at work. It was a day without people in the office so I could. Just amazing.

I agree. They behaved so well. No tantrums, which I am quite used to seeing now.
