Janet said that the border is now more secure than evah! Guess Janet hasn’t heard. Am I surprised? No. I am disgusted that our POTUS deems watching over the Korean border more important than securing our southern border.
In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.
Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Word broke late last night that Laredo police have requested help from the federal government regarding the incursion by the Los Zetas. It appears that the ranch owners have escaped without incident but their ranches remain in the hands of the blood thirsty cartels.
Laredo Border Patrol is conducting aerial surveillance over the ranches to determine the best way to regain control of the U.S. ranches, according to the Laredo Police department.
The approximate location of the U.S. ranches are10 miles northwest of I-35 off Mines Road and Minerales Annex Road. Just off 1472 (Mines road) near Santa Isabel Creek south of the city of Laredo, Texas.
The Los Zetas drug cartel is an offshoot of the elite Mexican military trained in special ops. The mercenary organization is said to include members of corrupt Mexican Federales, politicians as well as drug traffickers. The group was once part of the Gulf cartel, but has since splintered and now directly competes with the Gulf cartel for premium drug smuggling routes in the Texas region.

No, it did not Unc.
July 26, 2010 at 12:34 pm
Remember when Obama was a little boy, he was taught to do the “Hope and Change” dance in public to tell Mum he just couldn’t hold it any longer!
Silly Dems!!!!
Hope and Change
is for down the toilet time!!!!!

Uncle B,
You’re not kidding. The jihadists are stresming across the border under cover of the drug gangs.

Rick Perry is reelected?
July 24, 2010 at 6:39 pm
That’s right, Gov Good Hair will come to the rescue. I don’t like Bill White either.
July 24, 2010 at 6:48 pm
at least our new gov Bev Perdue is a run of the mill tool, not anything extraordinary
she’s got a lot of enemies here, they’ll get her on some ethics thing sooner or later
July 24, 2010 at 7:46 pm
She’s a female, they don’t need much to ruin her.
July 24, 2010 at 5:13 pm
And where would we go Uncle? How was this allowed to happen with our “never been more secure borders?”
If you need to bug out at any time mcn- you have my e-mail.

The women I love the most, PMM, are the ones who pack heat and literally adore the men who do the same…
Women need to step out from behind politeness and get to gettin’… That’s the way us menfolk like y’all anywho. This Mexican standoff is the perfect excuse as far as I’m concerned…

aaack, it may be more than the 2
July 24, 2010 at 5:27 pm
Yes, no one wants to say, but this is very serious.
July 24, 2010 at 5:29 pm
This is an act of war, as is the kidnapping of our citizens, IMO.
Personally I think we should make an example out of these asshats. Perhaps that might dissuade any of their compadres from trying this shit.
Has the federal government taken any action??? Made any comment??? Perhaps the press should check the DC golf courses for POTUS…..rolling eyes.
July 24, 2010 at 5:31 pm
there’s a $5 million bounty on Lazcano in the US: hopefully some enterprising citizens will act since our “government” will not.
that’ll buy a lot of catfood.
July 24, 2010 at 5:35 pm
Yes indeed.
July 24, 2010 at 5:38 pm
Several years ago, there was a report that was sent out of DC stating that an Al Qaeda operative had been arrested outside of a border town. I asked someone who worked with Border Patrol and they verified it. The story never made it out to the public. There is so much that we never hear about. Now, today that story is called a rumor.
July 24, 2010 at 5:38 pm
If obama wer an American citizen, he’d be guilty of treason.
July 24, 2010 at 5:44 pm
LOL Mary!! I was thinking it’s treason not to protect our citizens he took an oath about that you know. Hell he took the oath twice if you remember correctly.
July 24, 2010 at 6:32 pm
I agree. Security of the border should be of the utmost concern, yet it is not.
July 24, 2010 at 5:42 pm
A bounty??? So what, we have the strongest military in the world and we’re letting some two bit drug punks take our land??? I don’t think so. Clearly they seem to feel they can do whatever they want. Apparently they’re under the impression our POTUS is a pushover…..ah shit they’re right, damn!!!
There are a lot of assholes out there watching this and taking notes, God help us all.
McNorman you’re welcome here too and you just about already know where I live, LOL!!
July 24, 2010 at 6:34 pm
The Border Patrol in AZ is on high alert. I was told that there is a $5000.00 bounty for every BP worker.
I have several friends who work for BP.
Thank you Somebody.
July 24, 2010 at 5:44 pm
Hey, here’s an idea. LEGALIZE DRUGS–the surest way to get rid of the cartels. Sell the drugs in state-run stores, like the state of Washington did (maybe still does) with alcohol.
No doubt this is where obama-the-enslaver of youth and the weak-minded is headed, except the Feds will own the stores, and they’ll be managed by the likes of Shirley. .
July 24, 2010 at 6:35 pm
This would fall under USDA for control quality…I think you pegged Shirley’s new position fairly well.
July 24, 2010 at 5:47 pm
Managed by the likes of Shirley??? Ah man, that means the whitey’s won’t get the good stuff!!!
If we’re going to hell in a hand basket, I demand good drugs!
July 24, 2010 at 6:36 pm
That won’t happen under government control…they will let Monsanto control it.
July 24, 2010 at 6:40 pm
yes, Vilsack is a Monsanto stooge of long standing; btw re-Monsanto, did you see this: http://www.monsantowatch.org/moduleinterface.php?module=News&id=cntnt01&cntnt01action=detail&cntnt01articleid=9&cntnt01returnid=19

Where are those NEO NAZI’s patrolling the AZ border when we could use them?
July 24, 2010 at 7:46 pm
Yes, where are they?
July 24, 2010 at 6:58 pm
update to your list a couple of days ago: the 38 bodies are now up to 51, courtesy of los Zetas

Fantastic. Isn’t it something else? The rest of this country doesn’t quite understand the situation.
Monterrey is a metropolitan city and they are struggling right now? Things are moving very badly in Mexico.

the story is being disputed; without on the ground coverage, it isn’t clear what is happening
July 25, 2010 at 6:36 am
I should have read all the articles more thoroughly: one of the people confirming all this is Kim Dvorak, associate of Breitbart.
no reason to disbelieve anything there!
July 25, 2010 at 7:14 am
Oh please Nom. You are far from the border. One of the reasons that I find this story interesting is because the police department is being contacted. The sheriff has jurisdiction. This is probably not the first time that this has happened in that area. One of the problems with this is that for a multitude of reasons, let’s just call it a pissing war by different groups.
July 25, 2010 at 7:56 am
I have made it clear I think los Zetas are a real problem in Mexico a la 51 dbs and a serious threat here in the US, no need to state (incorrectly) my positions for me.
But Breitbart and family lack all credibility. As bad as ACORN may be, I am a hell of a lot more pissed off having media LIE TO ME.
I certainly believe the actions are something of which los Zetas is capable: but for now, I’ll believe it when someone more reputable confirms.
July 25, 2010 at 7:13 am
I saw that yesterday DE. I can tell you that they won’t deny it, all they are saying is that it is an unconfirmed report.
July 24, 2010 at 10:24 pm
If this was a take over by the Branch Davidians…well….you know the story..Our government can surround and kill helpless women and children…but…handle border disputes with Mexicans.we defer..we yield to Obama’s agenda…..I am amazed…that the MSM isn’t all over this story.
July 25, 2010 at 7:14 am
Oh yes, if it were David Koresh, the left would be all over it.

Mines Rd & Minerales Annex Rd.:
I could not find an exact match for this in Laredo TX, but google earthing Minerales Laredo TX brings one to Los Mineralas Colonia, TX (this in or adjacent to Laredo) 27°39’5.05″N 99°37’6.16″W which is adjacent to Mines Rd. of Laredo TX also called Farm to Market Rd, a decent sized local road with an origin in Hwy 35.
It is just over the border from Mexican San Antonio and the area appears a smallish border mini-town. There is a small business district nearby with some crowded small housing and trailers, and what appear to me to be several shipping container parks.
July 25, 2010 at 9:19 am
oops, should say it is near a Mexican San Antonio, this is not the San Antonio in Morelos, Mexico
tried all the Laredo traffic & weather cams hoping for a live feed, could not find any cams near the area
July 25, 2010 at 9:33 am
I can tell you that we have a huge problem with all of the colonias (illegal subdivisions) here. The fire department really has huge problems everytime there is a fire.
July 25, 2010 at 10:17 am
yes, I google earthed Mines Rd Laredo TX as the first place I checked, in some places along its length it is labeled as Mines Rd and sometimes Farm to Market: this was the only Mines Rd listed for Laredo TX;
I was presuming the Minerales Annex Rd reported was an unmarked or unpaved road or some such; this is why I noted that Los Minerales Colonias was not an exact match to Minerales Annex Rd.
July 25, 2010 at 10:42 am
Found a link to the carnage…51 killed in Nuevo Laredo. WARNING very graphic.
I suspect that this event transpired with very few people (1-2) that crossed over. It would make sense that if these participants needed to get out of town, what better place to go?
July 26, 2010 at 2:02 pm
thx for site, it’s new to me, very good
July 25, 2010 at 12:39 pm
Officials know nothing of rumored Zeta standoff on Mines Road.
