Obama, the one-term president. Geez, this must be giving Valerie heart palpatations. Politico calling him a one termer.
Q: Will Barack Obama be a one-term president?
A: Yes, he might last that long.
Oy vey.
The problem for Obama is that he appears to have taken seriously all the “change” stuff he promised during his campaign. And he has been unable to make the transition from candidate to president.
How many times can I say “we told you so?” GP writes about LA and their reaction to him shutting down the freeway for hours while he fund raises. The comments are searing.

The comments on the original article were too funny- and the ones at GP were even better.
Unfortunately- they will forget all about this as soon as they smoke a medical marijuana pipe full of the hopium and will vote for the same dims- again and again and again.

he was always meant to be a one-termer: he is a mole for the oligarchs to destroy the 2 party system; he is being used to successfully rebrand the neocons as the reformed kinder gentler populist neocons. there’s nothing unplanned about it.

Well, Nom nails it again, thank you very much…
This is a game. One “side” wins, the other “side” loses – and in the end nothing really changes. Imagine that!
The only change that ever occurs that really makes a difference is that which rises up from within each person’s soul, that is, if after all the media indoctrination one can still find their soul…
This whole ‘who’s up and who’s down’ bidness is just a game to get people all tied up in a knot worrying about crap that, by and large, half of it ain’t worth anybody’s time. It’s all a bunch of malarky.
One way or another, the ruling class are going to spread their wealth around to all those Hollywood “entertainers”, whose job it is to amuse us to death – quite literally.
Know thyself, chillun. That’s the deal now. Don’t be afraid. Step up. This is your time. I mean, is there any other choice, really?

hahahahaha! Never get in the way of Angelenos and their cars! Can you imagine the “carbon footprint” of that traffic jam??? Cars idling for 3 hours to drive 3 miles! paging Al Gore!
August 17, 2010 at 9:28 am
Yes, where is Al? You would think he would have thrown a clot over this.
August 17, 2010 at 6:43 pm
There was more on this today. I was listening on the car radio. This was like the worse traffic jam EVER! Police and ambulances stuck in it….one guy said he couldn’t get to work and lost his job….another guy complaining he was late to his doctor’s appt (he was handicapped too) and so were a lot of people so the doctors were trying to accommodate patients seeing them into late in the night…..whole blocks were people weren’t allowed to cross the street so basically those businesses had to close …really bad! People who had been thru this with other Presidents said it was never this bad…..they were esp. mad because he was at a private fundraiser for only 200 very wealthy guests….

After reading the comments, I’m surprised that no one went postal in LA. I understand that the PD was not given sufficient notice as to what they were gong to do. The world must stop for his royal pain in the ass. I tried five times to type this comment. My cat, Bugs insisted on walking on the keyboard. I guess he was showing me how Barack frustrates everyone.

Has anyone thought to wonder why there have been no questions asked about why the muslims want to build the mosque<<<(lower case intended)near Ground Zero???
And why there's no focus on building (by US!) of the Monument at Ground Zero??
August 17, 2010 at 11:21 am
WKB, Barack will simply not answer anyone with such a question PERIOD. snark
A house of worship or a symbol of destruction? I thought it a very interesting post.
August 17, 2010 at 3:19 pm
there are already 2 mosques near the former wtc site but the muslim population has outgrown them and they want a larger one.
there’s a catholic church even closer than the proposed mosque; no one is crying about it, inquisitions and crusades and pedophiles not withstanding.
I’m a unfan of all organized religion: a religion’s only purposes are to control those that follow it from within, especially women; and start wars of conquest against those without. This whole hallowed ground thing leaves me completely cold. I don’t care to see any part of the site turned into a mosque or a church or memorial of any kind much less have James Madison’s 3 pence taken from me to pay for any of it.
We’ve killed about a million Iraqis who had nothing to do with 9-11. Buy them a freaking memorial.
I don’t mean Bagram.August 17, 2010 at 3:40 pm
uhhh…why would anyone object to the Catholic church being there? They didn’t fly 2 airplanes in to the WTC….??
A million Iraqi’s? I’d research that number…
I’m just talking about the 9/11 attack and the common sense about the muslims/islams building a victory symbolas a result……
August 17, 2010 at 5:31 pm
It’s a two-fer: Muslim “victory symbol”/war memorial to the assassins combo.
August 17, 2010 at 7:22 pm
the victory symbol meme is bullshit. in the first place the planned mosque would not be on the wtc site, and in the second there are already 2 mosques within the vicinity. one of the 2 mosques present is sufi. crap someone might quote rumi or something, how terrifying is that? in the vicinity there are also bars, sex shops, pizza places, and banks: very much in keeping with the hallowed ground story, I’m sure. that there is no push to eliminate any of these from the so-called sacred site of “ground zero” makes it very clear the opposition is religious bigotry.
either we’ve got freedom of religion in this country as guaranteed by the 1st amendment, or we don’t. and if we don’t I’d as soon deport all the fucking fundies of every stripe to a moon around Neptune where they can chill and not cause any more trouble, not just the muslims.
you may see a great deal of difference in muslims and catholics but I don’t. in fact I’m sure I lost more ancestors to the catholics.
as for research, I’ve done plenty, more than you, I’m certain. there are no estimates of less than a couple of hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, many go as high as 1.3 million. and the reason they are estimates is that our government either didn’t think the number important enough to track or thought its citizens would be better off not knowing the number. regardless of the actual unfathomable sum, it is so many more times that of those who died at the wtc that there isn’t any comparison.
it’s hard to decide if there is more irony or hypocrisy to be seen in a nation that memorializes into a veritable industry its own losses of innocents but takes downright pride in those it inflicts on others.
disgusting.
August 17, 2010 at 9:17 pm
This murder of 3,000 innocents was viewed as a victory for the One True Faith by millions of Muslims throughout the world. I’m sure you saw the dancing in the streets. If you see this as a hypocrisy, that is your belief. I see nothing short of provocation. There is no bridge to anything. Yes, the 1st amendment must be protected. If they wish to build a temple to a cockroach, that is in their belief, so be it. Is this in poor form? Absolutely.
I thought that this article was very interesting. Al-Arabiya Director: The Majority of Muslims Do Not Want or Need a Mosque Near Ground Zero
They changed the page, but here it is.
So who is actually behind this house of worship or destruction (dependent on how you view it)? There have been offers to move this mosque, why have they not been taken seriously? Where is the money coming from? No answers yet.
August 18, 2010 at 6:02 am
“Is this in poor form? Absolutely.”
I also think it poor form: regardless of intent it is obviously perceived as antagonistic.
I just don’t care. Rights are rights: if they are not exercised, they go away. There are diverse churches and synagogues and even titty bars and nail salons near the site. Until I see anyone getting all exercised about these as well, I’m calling the opposition like I see it: hypocrisy.
I am tired of the government undermining my rights with faux scandals: that’s all the relocation of this stupid mosque will be: undermining everyone’s right to the 1st amendment. and jmo, that’s the intent of our dear oligarchs: setting us to fighting amongst ourselves to redirect hostilities laterally and down rather than up. I’ll pass.
August 18, 2010 at 6:06 am
I do care about dividing this country with issues like this Nom. There are many who will not be able to recognize how we are being played. I will ask questions that are not PC. This mosque is a very sensitive issue for me. Like Anthony, I want to know why there is an outright refusal to denounce radical Islam and where the $$$ is coming from.
August 18, 2010 at 6:31 am
“I want to know why there is an outright refusal to denounce radical Islam and where the $$$ is coming from.”
to whom do you refer with the refusal? many leading muslim clerics have denounced religion-sourced hatred and terrorism.
as for from where the $$$ come, jmo it likely comes from the same source as all major payouts to operatives– be they media or ngo or business or congress or military–
our dear oligarchs both home and abroad: the point is endless war with us as the game pieces.
August 18, 2010 at 9:23 am
I’m referring to the Imam that is nothing short of a provocateur Nom. Many leading clerics matters not to me. This man refuses to divulge the funding details or to denounce radical Islam. He is no bridge builder.
August 18, 2010 at 10:02 am
As for Bloomberg et al, why was the Greek Orthodox Church dumped? I’ve been reading about the church for years now. I guess there just aren’t enough votes in that camp to be had.

sorry, wasn’t sure whether you meant just Rauf or imams in general. no he’s not a bridge builder. he doesn’t have to be to have freedom of religion.
I admit to some curiosity about the funding as well: but I doubt if there is any legal requirement that he reveal it to the public anymore than there is a legal requirement for me to reveal my finances to the public.
I expect all those members of congress who get money from the same sources probably don’t want him talking about it either.

Sorry, folks, but I’m more than a little skeptical about oilsoc being a one-termer. He and that greedy wife of his have come to far ro quit now. Also, a $4 million remodel of the WH doesn’t sound like the plan of tenants who are paking up any time soon.
That having been said, I still must ask why he shot himself in the foot with his mosque endorsement.
August 17, 2010 at 8:08 pm
edit:
He and that greedy wife of his have not come to far to quit now.

Oh they won’t be giving up anything until they are forced to.
August 18, 2010 at 12:15 am
Just watched O’Gasbag on Fox about oilsoc’s mosque endorsement. Even Rove is asking “Why?”
I begin to small a distraction–a huge one–from something happening or about to happen. Iran? The Gulf?
Any ideas?
August 18, 2010 at 5:06 am
Everyone is asking why he stuck Michelle’s foot in his mouth. I wouldn’t be surprised if he owns being a Muslim or, this is a ruse to keep us occupied while something huge happens. Exactly what you said, something is amiss.
Russia feeding Iran nuclear materials is nothing to sneer at.
On the other hand, perhaps he is just mentally ill now. His own party is running scared now.
