Hypocrisy knows no bounds. The lawsuit.

Imane Boudlal showed up for her job at a Disney resort restaurant Wednesday wearing a hijab and flanked by supporters, reporters and photographers. Company officials say they offered to let her work "in a backstage role," but she declined and was sent home without pay. (Mark Boster / Los Angeles Times / August 18, 2010)
Yeah, Imane Boudlad worked for two years at Disney without wearing the scarf. She has the right as a citizen to wear the scarf. Perhaps she should have waited a lot longer to receive citizenship. I’m sure that there are a lot of other people who are willing to abide by the dress code for a job. She should be FIRED, end of story. This ass is being paid while on leave.

I can’t believe she went two years without wearing her scarf at work and thought nothing of it. This is a publicity stunt or hope for a lawsuit or something.
I’m also sick and tired of people acting entitled, as if they don’t have to accommodate an employer. Now days there’s this attitude that employers must accommodate them. No wonder unemployment is so high, businesses are becoming reluctant to pay all the taxes and entitlements and also bend over backwards to accommodate every employee’s so called rights.

She says that she finally grew up. I call BS as she knew Disney would have told her to take a hike. This is America, the land of milk and honey to these creeps. That’s like the girls who used to bitch and moan about why the ballerinas were the small girls in the company. It’s simple. There were not that many males and they did want to have a back that worked in middle age. I saw some this crap go on in that world as well. What galls me is that she did this after she became a citizen. I think that there should be a probationary period for these people.

Maybe she thought this would help get the mosque built at Ground Zero…

My first thought, exctly. Nothing happens in isolation.

You know, my desk is situated directly below an air vent that blow sirty air (the screen covering the vent is black and there are dead bugs – big bugs that are sitting on that screen as well). I have a serious respiratory issue and it is exacerbated by the air in the office. I spoke to my employer – this is a state government office. I submitted a request to have the screen removed and cleaned and the air vents cleaned. that was 2 years ago. No accommodations for health reasons.
Maybe if I wore a hijab . . .
August 22, 2010 at 11:23 am
TYPO ALERT !!!
it blows DIRTY air (not sirty air )geesh!
August 22, 2010 at 1:05 pm
Good idea leslie. Wear a hjab and then charge that it is dirtying up your hijab and they will be falling over themselves to correct the vent problem.
August 22, 2010 at 2:16 pm
I agree completely. Tell them that the scarf is now causing you great distress and see if that fixes it.
August 22, 2010 at 2:15 pm
oops
August 22, 2010 at 2:15 pm
Perhaps leslie…it’s sickening.

Anyone else would be out on their keester with an attitude like hers. She agreed to the dress code when she took the job. Did you hear her response when he said that Disney was paying her while she was on leave?? “How are they accommodating me?” Seriously? They’re accommodating by not FIRING you for insubordination and instead working at finding you another position in the company were you can practice your “right” to wear a hijab.

Disney is a very regimented place. I had lots of friends work for them. They are fair. This young woman is a disgrace to the gender. Perhaps she should be working it for the Taliban so that she understands the difference?

“Perhaps she should be working it for the Taliban”
Perhaps she is.
I’ with Psstt. More “poor-Muslims-as-victims” bullshit.
August 22, 2010 at 7:13 pm
Boy do they learn quick about that victim mentality, don’t they?

Facepalm.
August 23, 2010 at 5:17 am
That’s right on the money DE. Facepalm indeed.
August 23, 2010 at 12:08 pm
Follow the money! Isn’t her lawyer from CAIR? And are they not involved in the in your face mosque?
Thanks for staying on top of this!

I hear on the radio this morning that our US Constitution is more conducive to Islam than most Muslim countries. The guy that said this is that Imam in NYC that wants to build the 9/11 Victory mosque.
Translation: They can screw with our constitution without much problem.
