20-year-old woman student is police chief of violent Mexican town.
A 20-year-old criminology student, the only candidate for the position, was designated as police chief in the violence-plagued town of Guadalupe Distrito Bravo, Mexican media reported Tuesday.
Marisol Valles Garcia took charge on Monday of security in the town, population 10,000, on the US border. The community is around 80 km east of Ciudad Juarez, itself regarded as the most violent city in Mexico.
I have to say that as a parent, I would be dying if this were my kid.

I’m with you…I wouldn’t sleep at night if that were my daughter. How long will it be before her severed head is stuffed in some suitcase?
I have no idea how Janet Nap. could sit on her fat derriere and say that the illegals coming over the border pose no threat to the United States. What really kills me is that she said that as long as the illegals are peaceful there is no reason to arrest them or deport them. First they have to commit a crime before that would be considered. So….we have to have an innocent LEGAL American citizen killed, maimed, raped, or robbed at gunpoint before our Federal government will take action against them. How’s that for “Homeland Security”?

Janet has been part of the problem for a very long time Nunly. She was elected to office the same way that Barack was…the victim vote in AZ. I don’t like her. I think that Janet is a huge sell out and she should go and live in Mexico.
I feel for this young woman. 20 is so young, but that is what Mexico needs…a lot of young blood. I hope she is able to make it through a year. I have her in my prayers.

This story annoyed me when I heard it. It’s like, now that all is lost, we can let a woman have the job? Not only that, let’s give it to a young woman and not even give her a gun.
But yes, she has guts and girls can do amazing things, so perhaps she will survive long enough to make some real progress.
