Portland, Maine, weighs letting noncitizens vote.
Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it.
After having been in these parts recently, I can tell you that there is STILL LOTS OF KOOLAID swillers left.

October 23, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Unbelievable wca, absolutely unbelievable.
October 25, 2010 at 8:54 am
Unimexida, or perhaps just Norteamérica if we claim Greenland, Cuba, & Central America.
it’s coming.
October 24, 2010 at 9:36 am
Why don’t we just take it step farther and let France have Maine?
October 24, 2010 at 9:41 am
That is a great idea…independence for Maine.
October 24, 2010 at 9:40 am
Which absolutely, positively proves my point all along that voting doesn’t matter one bit…
Whoever gets into office is unimportant, because they ain’t the ones running the joint…
Period.
October 24, 2010 at 9:44 am
Unc, they could be a bit more discreet instead of throwing sand in our faces constantly.
October 24, 2010 at 10:07 am
But you see, McN, that’s the whole deal. Keeping us fighting and fussing amongst ourselves is how they pull this crap off…
October 24, 2010 at 10:03 am
My opinion as well, Uncle Baruch.
& I’d rather they threw sand: it’s harder for people to forget then.
October 24, 2010 at 11:20 am
Uncle B,
You might want to look at Jim Marrs Trilion Dollar Conspiracy. You could have written it.
October 24, 2010 at 11:31 am
Will do. Thanks.

The beginning of the Global State. Not an end to war, poverty, etc, but the global slide into humankind’s enslavemnt by a self-defined elite.
October 24, 2010 at 11:25 am
This “elite” is nothing but yet another version of the Old Boys’ Club.
October 25, 2010 at 5:12 am
Keep faith- the elite is NOT prepared to take care of themselves. Just make sure WE are.
The coasts are getting further and further from mainstream America Mcnorman. They may outnumber us- but it would behoove them to remember where their food comes from.
October 25, 2010 at 8:26 am
they own the patents on said food and the freaking army.
October 25, 2010 at 11:20 am
“the elite is NOT prepared to take care of themselves”
Thanks, Mom. That is one of the most encouraging statments since the Denver hijacking of ’08.
October 25, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Sorry Mary= but I believe it- they can only attempt to tell the rest of us how to live our lives- while the greedy hypocritical pigs live the life of ease created by their rules and greed.
I can grow my OWN food- screw Monsanto. There is plenty of food growing out there in the wild as well. The elites could not grow an organic anything- they can only talk about it.
Could they survive one winter with the heat in their mansions set at 64- OR LOWER? Could they unplug everything not in use to keep the bill down? (If it is plugged in it is drawing electricity- try unplugging everything except the fridge for a month- plug it in only when you it)
Nope- they can not. They want the rest of us cold and miserable while nothing changes for them.
And as for this ridiculous notion that these non citizens should vote because they pay sales tax and use the schools etc- I cry BS! Do our military stationed overseas and living on the economy get any such rights? Do the diplomats? ANY diplomats? Ambassadors? Embassy personnel? No?
Good- that is as it should be. Vote in your own country!
October 25, 2010 at 1:39 pm
I always ask people who want this if they believe that they are given those rights in other countries. Most never even ponder the thought.
October 25, 2010 at 6:12 pm
Mom,
Sorry to have misled you. I was not being ironic, but totally serious in thanking you for yur perspective. Since the theft in Denver, I have feared that the NWO was unstoppable. Your take on their core dependence on us gives me hope. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
October 25, 2010 at 6:29 pm
Even if they are to do as they please, I don’t think that we should roll over for them.
October 25, 2010 at 1:37 pm
That’s right, they need to remember where the food in this country is grown. Life sucks without food.
October 25, 2010 at 6:46 pm
native americans. buffalos.
the south. general sherman and salt.
life does indeed suck without food.
and the fuckers with the armies own the food.
October 26, 2010 at 12:15 am
Is this legal?
October 26, 2010 at 10:59 am
Hey rjjrdq, where have ya’ been? Glad to see your back and running.
I don’t think they give a donkey’s rear, legal or illegal.
October 26, 2010 at 11:23 am
Can we Vote Portland, Maine off the island?
October 26, 2010 at 11:26 am
Wouldn’t that be nice.
October 26, 2010 at 12:57 pm
heh, I like your idea, Buttered, but let’s combine it with yttik’s & give the whole state back to the descendants of the wabanaki confederacy.
they’ll sort it out.
October 26, 2010 at 5:38 pm
Can we video the sorting out Nom? You know it’s going to be a great clusterfark.
