Teaching is an art. Rare are those that sacrifice so much.
New Jersey, shame on you for allowing creeps like these. From the Daily Caller.
As an example, Ploshnick said, “we had a teacher that just recently was like – you NIGGER,” adding that the teacher was demoted, but is still teaching.

Originaelly meant to right wrongs and end abus of workers, unions have long since morphed into the abusers.

And, as this video shows, the dumbing down of America cannot all be blamed on TV.
btw, I taugh in one school where an English teacher daily yelled “Fuck you” at her students and smoked in the classroom. The principal knew it, but the teacher was the Vice-Princicpal’s girlfriend, so the Prinipal refrained from making anyone uncomfortable. And this was in an upper midde class community.

Money has never bought class or manners, that is for sure.

Abuse is putting it mildly Mary.

What is wrong with the parents and taxpayers in New Jersey? (and anywhere else this crap goes on?)
IMO we need to do away with the dept of education and have schools go local again. Teachers and schools need to be accountable to parents and taxpayers.

I certainly would like to see schools go back to educating the masses as opposed to indoctrinating. NJ should take heed…Christie is no slacker and he is most certainly watching them.

Caught this link at NQ- helenk posted it- you will be VERY interested- Benedict finally gets something right!
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/27/world/europe/27pope.html?_r=2
“He said everyone had the right to leave home to seek better conditions of life in another country.
”At the same time, states have the right to regulate migration flows and to defend their own frontiers, always guaranteeing the respect due to the dignity of each and every human person,” he said.
He said immigrants had the duty to integrate into their host countries and respect their laws and national identities.”
That is just a teaser for you! I am shocked! He is the leader of my church- but he is SOOOOOOOO 1940′s it scares me- seems he got this one though

as an anti-religionist, I very seldom find myself in accord with the pope, but this is one of those times.
jmo the catholic church needs to discard the doctrine of papal infallibility (which only began in 1870), then it might be able to acknowledge that the world has changed profoundly in ways no one predicted until the more modern eras (population growth & resource depletion).

Nom, can things get any weirder? I think we are going to be watching some very interesting happenings.
October 26, 2010 at 12:47 pm
lol, is that interesting like the so-called chinese curse may you live…?
October 26, 2010 at 5:38 pm
hehehehehe
I knew you would get it.

No surprise PMM. Alliances are becoming quite obvious now. Either we act or we are permanently screwed.
October 26, 2010 at 12:28 pm
agreed….
Truth is for the worlds Catholics he is drawing a line…it’s his job. He is supporting Sarkozy as head of state & putting the bishops in their place. He’s head Bishop…It’s his job….
If Catholics don’t like it they can leave & join a church they like. We have tried liberal hope and change….this pope is quietly redirecting a church that has swerved too far to the left…
I think it’s great he has spoken out….of course I’m Catholic and I think he’s doing his best.
October 26, 2010 at 12:30 pm
I too am Catholic- and most of the time am very frightened by this Pope- I have no desire to go back in time.
On this- the Pope got one right and I will give him credit.
Someday, my church will show women the same equality Jesus showed.

We have to start somewhere. We cannot stand divided. That’s how we’ve gotten to this point.
October 26, 2010 at 5:35 pm
Either we stand against the crazies like Ackmadinnerjacket and his clerics or we take it like Europe. The proverbial line in the sand has been drawn.
October 26, 2010 at 10:22 am
These people seem to think they can NOT be taken down. When they fall I hope they fall hard, what a bunch of snobs. I agree with PMM can we undo the dept of education? And unions? Whoa….
October 26, 2010 at 11:05 am
Tracmick, this behavior has been occurring for much longer than what we really care to admit to. It’s just that before, there was some semblance of common courtesy. The third world despot behavior believes it has found a place in society. I beg to differ. People are getting sick and tired of being bullied.

When did Seniority become Tenure in public schools…pfffttt….
Do they get to go on sabbatical for research….do they become teacher emeritus…do they engage in teacher exchanges with other public schools at home and abroad…
Does their research bring additional revenue and academic renown to the public school….
Must they put in years as an adjunct often part time with no benefits before they are awarded tenure through faculty nomination and vote…
sheeeesh!
October 26, 2010 at 5:37 pm
WCA, you are asking too much of this group. They are entitled. I taught in the public schools for a long time. I saw many good teachers walk away asap. The really shitty ones were always promoted to administration. Administrators retired and then came back (like a bad case of the clap) to motivate students as contract workers soaking the district. Absolutely disgusting.
October 27, 2010 at 7:32 pm
well…those things I describe are pretty standard for tenure track positions at most colleges and universities….most of the time it takes a while to get tenure…
