UAE source: ‘explosive device’ discovered in Dubai in cargo shipment from Yemen bound for US. And there are more packs that are floating around.
A suspicious device discovered in an air cargo shipment in Dubai that was headed for the U.S. contained explosive materials, an official UAE security source said Friday.
It was the first confirmation that any of the suspicious packages reported Friday contained explosives.
The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said late Friday the “explosive device” was found in the last 24 hours in a courier company’s regional hub and originated in a shipment from Yemen.
Erstwhile the state department sends Ackmydinnerjacket birthday wishes. And let’s not forget about the UPS plane that blew up in Malaysia last month.

false flag indicating US base in Yemen ready for increased expansion of war into Somalia.
that was easy.
don’t look now, but al Qaeda and al Shabaab are now passé, so we have our new scary-scary group of never-before-heard-of-jihadis, Eden. Very islamic.
I know I’m impressed.

Yemen, Yemen- where else today have I heard about that country??? Oh yes, that’s right- over at DE’s! Yemen- one of the countries to which barky is giving a waiver on the child soldier issue.
The whole world has gone stark raving mad!
October 29, 2010 at 3:48 pm
That’s because our puppet there controls less than 1/2 the country but the US
Saudi Arabiadoesn’t want South Yemen to become independentso we talk a lot of crap about it being gobbled up by the Iranians who are separated from it by Iraq and Saudi Arabia on the one side and the Gulf of Aden routinely patrolled by US warships and Oman on the other. Here is our lovely ally and his lovely allies, wait for it…al Qaeda (though admittedly, “al Qaeda” can best be described here as mercenaries that play both sides of the Saleh/Houthi conflict; there’s no one al Qaeda, this is a merger of Saudi and Yemeni fighters): http://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2009/02/yemens_multifaceted.php
Saleh is surely another old time US intelligence buddy; his half brother military commander Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar was a recruiter for bin Laden during the Soviet & Afghan war (back when we were for the warlords and Taliban, as well as bin Ladin– excuse me, “mujaheddin” — before we were against them) fighters which subsequently relocated back in Yemen.
AS it happens Yemen is financially bankrupt and has a serious issue of running out of water in the next 20 years because it is all being diverted for growing qat (a drug growing in popularity in, wait for it…the US, among other places.) So the
drug dealing dopersUS sponsored government in Yemen is all too happy to keep the $$bonanza$$ of weapons and arms going and a military base that can’t be called a military base but rather a “center of operations” to fight purported jihadis in exchange for staying in power and getting to keep the resources of the other half of the country.Meanwhile we and the EU attempt to strong arm the GCC into taking on Yemen as member
which would have absolutely nothing to do with our gaining control of any oil, I’m just sayin.http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/7000563-us-europe-press-gcc-states-on-yemen-membershi
October 29, 2010 at 3:52 pm
We’re only seeing the very beginning and that has me very worried.
October 29, 2010 at 3:59 pm
nope, actually it goes back at least as far as Bush 1 who had special forces there.
Yemen has been destabilized for a long time, it’s long been a cold war bone between us & the russians, just mostly off the radar since the 80s.
October 31, 2010 at 11:39 am
I was talking about the attempts at making more airplanes go kaboom.
November 1, 2010 at 6:02 pm
gotcha.
no doubt there will be plenty of kaboom until the midterm is over and the new increased surveillance and rendition laws are passed.
one supposes then we will plateau for a season at this “new normal”

October 31, 2010 at 11:41 am
Why is this premise bogus?
November 1, 2010 at 6:04 pm
it claims to be in our national interest.
rather, it is in the oligarchs’ corporatist interests, and that is something else entirely.

Did Barry order a wedgie of Yemen with his water?
Actually Barry Obama is under the delusion that Yemen is a country made up entirely of men………. Oh Ye Men!!!!!!!!!

Very good Buttered
October 29, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Nom’s right. The military-industrial complex wins again: Exploiting the diversion of the “election” in order to solidify support for the “war”…
It’s all very predictable. The swing to the “right” has already begun. The tweets to Iran were another ace in the hole for war without end…
What else? Did I miss anything?
October 29, 2010 at 8:37 pm
Wow. It’s about time, idn’t it? That is, that I stepped out from behind the proverbial curtain…
I never compromised by beliefs all along the way, which is that I think this administration will try anything it can to win support…
Bombs being sent to synagogues in none other than Chicago. Gimme a break. Jews are not going to vote for this guy. Like I said earlier, and like I’ve been saying all along, Iran needs to be dealt with, and this guy ain’t the one to do it…
I think everyone understands this now, and I can come out from behind anonymity and say it.
October 30, 2010 at 7:22 am
Why doesn’t anyone in the WH deal with the elephant in the room? Because they are incapable fools.
October 30, 2010 at 10:19 am
Interesting
Busted!: http://news.antiwar.com/2010/10/29/yemen-officials-packages-didnt-come-from-yemen/““No UPS or DHL cargo packages heading to Chicago through Yemen took place in the last 48 hours,” insisted Yemenia Airways’ Air Cargo Director Mohammed Shaibah. Officials with the nation’s Civil Aviation Authority insisted that no US cargo aircrafts left the nation at all in the past 48 hours.”
October 31, 2010 at 9:30 am
Nom, I wouldn’t expect Yemini Airways or Yemen to actually spill the beans, would you? lol
October 31, 2010 at 10:18 am
in this instance, they have more credibility than does our “government”. All thes fake bombs are nothing more than the latest interference just before and election. one wonders where is the enw audio from bin laden. this is all a bunch of lies and only a moron would believe any of this is really being perpetrated by muslim terrorists.
American synagogues? This is just stupid. Yemen doesn’t have a jewish problem: they deported almost every jew in Yemen to Israel somewhere around 1950. I doubt Yemenis even think about jews.
I call bullshit.

good lord, who can be stupid enough to believe this sh$t? it just boggles the mind. I’m starting to believe the majority of humans have been replaced by pod people.
October 31, 2010 at 11:47 am
I don’t think so. I was in the Philadelphia airport five days earlier. I noticed significant changes in security. I had been there five weeks earlier and it was bad then, but nothing like when I left. I’m going by first hand account. That includes all of the US Park services as well as every museum that I revisited. Something was amiss in early October. I know what I saw, and I do believe that this is related to the election Nom. I had problems two weeks before with the shipments that I made as well, and my stuff is to dorm supplies. I expect that Thanksgiving is going to become a travel nightmare for most people. I hope the weather holds up.
October 31, 2010 at 3:14 pm
None of the tighter security in any way refutes what I have said: that these bombs are an attempt to drum up support for war and condition US citizens to comply with further invasions of their civil rights; that they are timed with our election to promote voting in more pro-war candidates.
You state that terrorists have been planning something for a while; I state that the US government/its military have been planning something for a while.
There is terrorism in Yemen, and it’s chiefly concerned with the civil war there. The focus on the US exists to the extent that we are involved in their civil war (and the drug trade s already extant in Yemen and the oil recently found there), and has nothing to do with Chicago synagogues. If Yemeni terrorists wanted to attack a US target, they’d pick one on their own soil.
WE are agreed that the timing of the election is a factor. Jmo, this works much better with my theory than yours.
BHO’s government is already attacking Yemen: no result from our midterms will alter this. Yemen has no stake in our election.
October 31, 2010 at 3:56 pm
I know that you want don’t a “real” bomb detonated. We both have our opinions, and truly nothing surprises me anymore.
October 31, 2010 at 5:48 pm
want a bomb detonated?
hardly. bombs are cowards’ weapons that kill innocent people.
there are plenty of evil people that I wouldn’t be sorry to see go, but not via bomb or in any way that would harm innocent people.
in point of fact, I don’t recollect any other poster you’ve got that has ever condemned the whole concept of collateral damage.
October 31, 2010 at 5:52 pm
Crap Nom, that was a cat delete of the word “don’t”. LOL Geez, that was Fred. He’s black and not into trick or treat at all, but I digress. I’ve never had a word that would change the entire context of the meaning deleted by a cat strolling across as I typed. Sorry about that.
October 31, 2010 at 5:54 pm
Sorry, I can’t believe that I didn’t proof the sentence before hitting enter. BTW Fred took off, so he must have known.
October 31, 2010 at 6:07 pm
I probably had 8 typos trying to write with one of mine sitting half on my arm and half on my lap earlier; probably should have guessed.
October 31, 2010 at 6:16 pm
That was a first for me, usually it’s a misspelled word or half of a word, but never a key word. I’m still laughing. Poor Fred can’t stand trick or treaters. They always want to pet him. He loves on his terms as all cats do.
October 31, 2010 at 6:27 pm

Somebody might get scared and run out.
