Anyone see a problem with these thin skinned kids? Or is it their parents who insist that their kids are not failing?
The dreaded F has been all but banished from the grade books.
The report cards that arrived home late last week showed few failing grades but instead marks of “I” for incomplete, indicating that students still owe their teachers essential work. They will get Fs only if they fail to complete assignments and learn the content in the months to come.
At West Potomac High School, taking F off the grade books. I’d really like to know what you all think about this. I’m sure that the self esteem issues will be kept at bay until they make the big time F…at work and are fired.

One sees the US is right on track to becoming a nation peopled entirely by idiots.
In a normal situation one would regard the receiving of an F as a strong warning sign about one’s competence and one would work hard to improve. If no F is given, neither is the message that one needs to improve.
The idea that mere completion of an assignment guarantees a passing grade is obscene. The assignment must be completely correctly.
Moreover, how is a student to learn the material “in the months to come” while learning new material simultaneously? What of the information to come that is founded on the first information that the student has not mastered? This is just crazy.

The dumbing down of America continues its march throughout the country. Just how long will they give these students to finish their “incomplete” work?
This is ridiculous, and they should be embarrassed and ashamed of being called educators.
Here’s a thought, maybe these parents should take stock into what their offspring are doing instead of just flipping on the television and ignoring them.
Very frustrating to watch what is happening to these kids nowadays.

Hey, you wouldn’t want the up and coming TSA recruits to feel bad about themselves, would you?

An “F” is your wake-up call that you need to do much better!! Most of us managed to become useful citizens and get jobs while using F’s in the grading systems. What else do educators have planned to make sure America continues on its dumbing down quest?
