They’re thinking that the Libyan thingamajig is not enough to distract everyone’s attention away from the nuclear nightmare that is predictably unfolding. And they’re thinking that something like this will keep the shit pot stirred more, i.e., people will be arguing, fussing, and fighting for at least a few more days…
Meanwhile, how are those oil contracts with Brazil coming along?

Maybe they are thinking about the TRUTH. Unfortunately the story and photos have been successfully censored: visiting Der Spiegel from the US will not show the story.

And these American soldiers doing the posing with dead human bodies as trophies are among those who stalked, raped, and murdered a little 14 year old girl, executed her entire family including her little 7 or 8 year old sister, burned their house down, and then blamed it on the Taliban. They are WAR CRIMINALS and ought to HANG.
I have no idea what point Germany is trying to make with the timing and I don’t care either, because it is a story that is LONG OVERDUE.

I have made an error here: the trial involving the Mahmudiyah killings is a retrial of one of the soldiers involved; it is a whole different set of mass murdering soldiers. Apologies.
Both sets ought to fry.

I prefer to hear it from someone who is on the front line. This guy has been reporting for a long time.
