Cardinal suspends Pfleger: ‘You are not able to pastor a Catholic parish’
Citing what he called threats from the Rev. Michael Pfleger to leave the church, Cardinal Francis George has removed the outspoken priest from St. Sabina parish and has suspended his “sacramental faculties as a priest.”
Pfleger had publicly feuded with the cardinal about possibly being reassigned to Leo High School, telling a radio show recently that he would look outside the Catholic church if offered no other choice.
“If that is truly your attitude, you have already left the Catholic Church and are therefore not able to pastor a Catholic parish,” George wrote in a letter dated today.
Cardinal Clueless why did it take so long?

Per the news, the letter also states that Pfleger had told the cardinal he didn’t want to stay on as pastor for the rest of his days in the church, anyway.
This morning, the reporter said that there is a deal on the table to keep Pfleger on without any duties as a “Pastor in Name Only”. So now I guess he can be the first PINO.

I just finished writing a post about this and sure enough, Leslie just confirmed what I thought would happen…Cardinal George will fold and allow that priest in name only to continue on with his political activism. How George can allow a priest who openly says on his pulpit, “I don’t need a bishop, I don’t need the Cardinal, I don’t need the Pope,” is beyond me.

Off topic: Is it me or are any of you having trouble leaving a comment on Blogger Blogs? I can read the posts, but anytime I try to comment I can’t get through and when I checked on Blogger, they don’t have any information. Just wondering if Blogger is down (like it often is) or if I’m doing something wrong.

If you have cookies blocked you are SOL with blogger. It was at great personal sacrifice that I allowed my computer to be open when I was searching for you lol. Took a few hours to get rid of all the googlies.

Ok…all figured out. I hate Blogger, but a lot of my good friends use it. I left Blogger and went with WordPress a long time ago because I got tired of the site going down every week.

They really screwed with us Roger. A huge exodus left Google during the primaries. We were sick of being shut down because bots would flag us.

I think that the RCC should send Pfleger to do missionary work. On an deserted island. Preferably one with lots on insects and an active volcano. If the Cardinal waffles again, he gets to go as well.

Father Phlegm should be working in Japan at the Fukushima plant ministering to those in true need. The Cardinal should ride along and ensure that Phlegm does his work.
