French outraged by U.S. treatment of Strauss-Kahn. All because he had to do a “perp” walk? The man is a disgrace.
To many Americans, the handling of Strauss-Kahn reflected an egalitarian tradition that all crime suspects get the same treatment, regardless of their wealth or power.
Socialist Party leader Martine Aubry denounced “degrading images” and said France was lucky to have a law on the presumption of innocence that bars media from showing defendants in handcuffs before they are convicted.
Former Justice Minister Elisabeth Guigou, who drafted that law, called the pre-trial publicity “absolutely sickening.”
“The power of these images of a Dominique Strauss-Kahn who hasn’t been allowed to shave, tired, and not dressed properly, all that offends human dignity,” she told Europe 1 radio.
He is a criminal.

I know that there are many Catholics who disagree, but there is no peace in the Koran…only violence and calls for death, torture, and rape as a tool to destroy.
Regarding the crazed french poodle in heat- he is a product of a French system that protected his womanizing treatment of women and it finally escalated to the point where he was caught and hopefully will pay the price for what he’s done. I wouldn’t wish HIV or AIDS on him or anyone else…but it was bound to happen.
My fear is that if he gets out of jail, he will continue his behavior and possibly infect more innocent victims of that disease…not to mention the emotional damage he will do to those victims.

Almost all religions have codified doctrine possessed firstly by a clerical authority who parse it to the member believers.
A religion is not merely what its followers as individuals do: it is what individuals believe and do based upon their understanding given them by their religious authorities, what the religious authorities believe and do, and what the society that practices the religion does in its name.
Inquisition? Witch burnings? Witch killings are still done today. Don’t forget those Jeebus Rifles either. Or Rumsfeld’s little sermon pamphlets.
Religions are all used to control members and stigmatize nonmembers.
Catholicism, like all Christianity, is founded upon a belief in a hierarchy system of a God> men> women> animals> everything else. It sucks sh#t, like all organized religions.
And frankly the differences between Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are pretty damn small.

Nom, did you forget what Pope Benedict said in a speech regarding the Muslim religion?
He quoted the opinion of Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos, “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached”.
That was a huge uproar. The Pope does not and never will approve of any religion to kill in the name of God…he will always condemn this.
Regarding all your quotes from the Bible. I used to teach Old Testament (which comprises most of your quotes). It’s impossible to explain in context each example on a blog. If you want to sit down someday and have a discussion on theology….be my guest. Much of what you are forgetting is that the Biblical age was well over 2,000 years ago and the Jewish culture was exactly what Jesus came to correct.
In the case of Timothy, again he was speaking to the culture of the times. He was concerned that an outward visible uprising to follow the new laws of Jesus would put them in danger and he was warning them not to over-step for their own safety. He wanted the Word spread, not wiped out by the same who crucified Jesus.
Saying a woman should wear a covering on her head is not exactly oppression. That was the culture of the day (and still is in much of the Middle East). It is not required in the Catholic Church, but often observed by those who prefer to do so and preferred by those women who go to Latin Mass. It’s an option…hardly what I would call scandalous or harmful in any way.
Almost wish it were a law in the Catholic Church on Sundays…would save me the time I use to fix my hair!

Pope Benedict has said as well that his words have been taken out of context, that they were merely a quote, and not his personal belief; that he did not intend to offend any muslims; his aides said he did not apologize for offending because he didn’t say what he was accused of saying and therefore had nothing to apologize for. So your quote is quite disingenuous. Pope Benedict has made way too many favorable statements regarding non-catholic christianity, judaism and islam as all being monotheistic religions and thus having some common ground for your attempt to say he thinks islam is satanic to hold water.
You have missed my point in posting so many bloodthirsty quotes. One can cherrypick others’ religious texts and as well select inflammatory statements among its members and make the worst case for anything.
I don’t give a rat’s ass about any of these stupid religions. I quit church— some generic-y Christian thing near my parents’ house to which they went and made their children go— at 4 years old, I could tell when someone was just talking shit.
As for your excuse for Timothy: does he not believe his god will see that his word is spread one way or another, if that’s what the god wants?
As for the hair covering passage: you’ve missed the point again: it was about women being less than men, and having additional restrictions placed on them that men did not. You just can’t fix that.
