Fury as $2m lottery winner Leroy Fick who owns a sportscar is on food stamps!
Deal with the fact that the IRS is always going to take some of the pie. I want to know why this assclown that won the lottery is still on food stamps?
He has bought a house and an Audi convertible since winning $2million on a game show last June.
But lottery winner Leroy Fick, of Bay County, Michigan, is still collecting subsidised food stamps 11 months after hitting the jackpot because of a loophole in the system.
Mr Fick, 59, who won his fortune on popular TV show Make Me Rich! admitted that he still uses his Bridge Card – part of the benefits system – to save money in stores.
Michigan has been working with federal officials for months on ways to close the loophole which makes the millionaire eligible for food assistance because he received a lump-sum payment.
Food stamps are paid for by tax dollars and are meant to help support low-income families.
Mr Fick told Michigan’s WNEM-TV: ‘I even called them [the Department of Human Services] and asked about the Bridge Card and said you can go ahead and keep it if you want to.’
Mr Fick claims he paid more than half of his winnings in taxes – leaving him about $850,000. He also bought a property and a used 2008 Audi.

When I saw that arrogant prig it made me so mad. My daughter in PA who is not getting the child support due her (no payment in the last three months even though the guy makes $25,000 a month in salary) and has no job, cannot get State aid at all…not even food stamps. They give no reason, other than, “You get child support”…even though she has shown that he has not been paying. And yet this asswipe can be living high and taking food from the mouths of those who need it. There’s a special place in hell for guys like that.

Yup, he’s an asshat alright. His counter is that the IRS took half of his win so he should still collect. I would love for this pig to say that to a room filled with women who have children and get nothing.

Saw that this morning and KNEW one of my fav bloggers would get right on it.
And as Nunly pointed out- this is what is wrong with the system- and with America. No ethics whatsoever and no common sense.
Having done the food stamp thing many years ago I can only say the rules have changed. Back then if you had more than minimal money in the bank, life insurance policy or a car worth more than 500 bucks you did not qualify. As is only right

Thanks PMM. How’s the family doing?
A family of four making $50,000 qualifies for food stamps and you can have a lot of stuff. The clincher is that you don’t have a steady paycheck. Whatever happened to paying your own way. This guy is still on the entitlement mentality. No different than the clueless ss disabled? infantile recipient. I am fed up with these freaks.

y’all might want to read up a bit on the history of black people in Philadelphia (eg 1985 MOVE). Absolutely not to condone voter intimidation, but there’s always more to the story.

Kent State Nom? There is always more to a story. True. It’s time to move on. You know that I can’t stand BO, but I think that they already waste time, money and effort on things that don’t matter. What good could possibly come from investigating the Kent State episode.

I’m done with black and white and brown. I don’t want to live in the past and going back to Kent State is just that. It’s over.

later in the article, not the Kent State part the MOVE part. where the government firebombed the black neighborhood.

it’s true the BPs committed voter intimidation and it’s a shame thye were not prosecuted; but there’s a real reason for blacks in Philly to not think they’d be treated fairly. Many things are not on everyone’s radar: people make many judgments assuming that everyone shares the basic assumptions of how society works, when in fact they don’t.

You’re right. Things get swept under the rug while other distractions take place. You are absolutely right.

He is disgraceful but he’s far from the top of the heap.

There is always a competition. It seems to never end.
