Texas Tells Feds: Shove Your Light Bulb Ban.

“Let there be light,” state Rep. George Lavender, R-Texarkana, wrote on Facebook after the bill passed. “It will allow the continued manufacture and sale of incandescent light bulbs in Texas, even after the federal ban goes into effect. … It’s a good day for Texas.”

Screw you Natural Resources Defense Council.   Good grief, I won’t have to buy and hoard bulbs.  Whew!  And we don’t like being pawed at the airport either.
UPDATE:  The rumblings are spreading.  No one is happy.

Most golfers, according to Western Pennsylvania Golf Association spokesman Jeff Rivard, play 20 or so rounds a year. The president has played more than 70 rounds in two years — amid a recession, three wars, a Mideast meltdown, and an economy not flourishing under his stimulus and bailout programs.

“That is well above average, especially for a man with a schedule like that,” said Rivard. “Pretty much double the average.”

via A failure to communicate – Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.  Disconnected is correct, just like the people that voted for this pathetic excuse of a leader.  He ditched one of the groups that voted for him?  Wow.

Leaders of a national Hispanic organization are criticizing President Barack Obama for skipping their annual conference for the third consecutive year after he promised as a candidatein 2008 that he would return as president.

Keep it up POTUS, please keep it up.  The gift that keeps on giving…now teh won is tweeting.  Told ya’ this guy doesn’t do much to earn his keep.

Senators warn of a growing border security issue: tunnels.  Come and camp out near the river Janet, I dare you.

Eleven tunnels – used to smuggle drugs, money, weapons, and in some cases people –  have been discovered so far this year, bringing the total number of tunnels found by law enforcement authorities since 2001 up to 125. The majority of the tunnels have been found in southern California and Arizona.

Gee, only eleven tunnels were found.

World’s oldest light bulb 110 years old in Livermore.

On June 18, the world’s oldest-known working light bulb reaches another milestone, and will begin its 110th year of operation.

The bulb holds the Guinness World Record, and has been illuminating local fire stations in Livermore, California since 1901, the year Queen Victoria died.

Lynn Owens, who heads the light bulb’s centennial committee, told Time.com: ‘Nobody knows how it’s possible. It is a 60-watt bulb and it’s only turned on for about four watts, but nobody knows why it keeps burning.

‘We’ve had scientists from all over the country look at this light bulb’.

Very cool.  I wish we had this same technology working today.  I’m not a fan of CFC bulbs.

“Why Aren’t You Speaking English?”

English is not my first language.  I find this behavior deplorable.   Anyone who has been living in this country for 22 years should be speaking English.  If this man had gone before the elite government of Mexico, I can guarantee he would have been tossed out of the building if he had spoken in any other language but Spanish.

He prefers to speak Spanish, hence the interpreter that we, the taxpayer are paying for.
