Obama’s plan for getting out alive: “Okay, you guys break up into different groups and come up with a series of proposals about how we get out of the building. I will insist that we have balanced approach of applying both water to the fire and opening the windows, which some say will only provide more oxygen for the flames. And I will veto any plan that requires we have a new plan should we get stuck on another floor. And, did I mention this mess was created by the former tenant and….ahhh what’s that smell?

Things I wonder about:
I’d like to hear whether or not Abdo claims the porn stash as his.
Because if he’s such a practicing muslim, he should not be looking at porn of any sort, much less child porn.
Also, I’d like to know what is meant by child porn: 8 year olds, or 15 year olds that could be mistaken for adult women? Because there’s not a porn stash out there that doesn’t contain some underage girls. And it makes a difference as to whether it amounts to enough for a court martial (presuming that the porn really is Abdo’s and wasn’t put there to cause him trouble).
The list of bomb making materials seems imo a bit thin. Most of the items any soldier would have, the anomalies being the 2 pressure cookers and the large amounts of sugar. But anyone could also buy those without causing suspicion. What is the evidence that Abdo is the actual purchaser here?
After Hasan (actually, before Hasan, but certainly after Hasan) it should have been obvious to the military that any muslim who wants to be a c.o is bad news. There ought to be some better protocol for scrutinizing incoming soldiers to avoid getting these sorts in the first place. (I personally don’t even think the US should allow muslims in the army at this time what with the preponderance of our targets being muslims, but that’s a whole ‘nother story). But once the military has found that it does have one, there should be no delay in giving them a less than honorable discharge and making arrangements to collect payment for their training on some reasonable schedule. I am not suggesting that they confine these individuals pending discharge, but they could keep an eye on them, certainly, in a non-hostile way. I don’t think sending one of their former fellow soldiers to check up on them and see that they are getting along okay back in civilian life is a bad idea either.
Whatever went on here, it’s curious to note that it sure took the coverage from the Norway terrorist and put it back on the jihadists. Just sayin.

I am not familiar with the amounts or ingredients in bombs but given the shenanigans in the govt am willing to wait and see what develops on that front.
Agree on the need to just keep the muslim conscientious objectors out. And keeping an eye on them.
