Editorial: Now Can We Say Obama Economic Plan Fails?

Obamanomics has been weighed, measured and found wanting.

Ugh, that is putting it mildly.

Car insurance: Insurance cheaters call their luxury cars farm vehicles.

“Honest people end up subsidizing the insurance premiums of dishonest people,” said Robert U’Ren, senior vice president of Quality Planning.

He said the improper application of the farm-use discount is a money-saving move that’s done by both dishonest policyholders and insurance agents. It results in about $150 million of unpaid premiums annually.

Because farm use is seldom verified, “it is an easy tool that cheats can use to reduce the cost of auto insurance,” U’Ren said.

I never would have thought of this.   I guess that’s why my our premiums keep going up.

Obama economy: White House turns to small-scale solutions.

Examples include more spending on high-speed rail, roads and bridges; improvements to the patent system; free-trade agreements; and extending a one-year payroll tax cut that is expected to provide an average benefit of $695 per worker.

Isn’t that what Michelle spends on her fancy shiteous looking tennis shoes and some tamales?  Remember, you only get the cash if you are a worker.

Ahhh heck, that Barack sure is generous, isn’t he?  Too bad no one wants to tell him that his “experience” as a community organizer is a complete failure.   I have to wonder what he believes the word “leader” to mean?  I’m perplexed.

UN official: US execution of Leal broke int’l law.

The U.N.’s top human rights official says the U.S. breached international law when it executed a Mexican citizen.

Who does the UN think they are?

Pillay also cited a 2004 International Court of Justice ruling saying the U.S. must review and reconsider the cases of 51 Mexican nationals sentenced to death, including Leal’s — But, she said, that never happened.

And it will never happen if it’s in Texas.

Former First Lady Betty Ford Dies at Age 93.

Betty Ford served as First Lady of the United States from 1974 to 1977. During her time in the White House, Ford was an outspoken advocate of women’s rights — encouraging the appointment of more women to senior government posts, supporting the U.N. International Women’s Year in 1975, and supporting passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

In 1982, Mrs. Ford, together with Ambassador Leonard Firestone, founded the non-profit Betty Ford Center at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Today, the Betty Ford Center is regarded as one of the top treatment facilities in the world.

“I was deeply saddened this afternoon when I heard of Betty Ford’s death,” fellow former first lady Nancy Reagan said in a statement. “She has been an inspiration to so many through her efforts to educate women about breast cancer and her wonderful work at the Betty Ford Center.”

She worked tirelessly with grace.  Breast cancer, arthritis, alcohol and prescription drugs…they all took their toll her.    She took a bad deal and turned it into a positive action by founding the Betty Ford Center.  She could have easily lived her life in the confines of comfort, but she chose to make a difference.
PssttCmere thought Mr. & Mrs. Ford were doing well in Heaven.  I agree.  They sure were happy on Earth.

Book: Barack Obama, Sr. Discussed Putting Son Up for Adoption – Political Punch.

From the Boston Globe:

The elder Barack H. Obama, a sophomore at the University of Hawaii, had come under scrutiny by federal immigration officials who were concerned that he had more than one wife. When he was questioned by the school’s foreign student adviser, the 24-year-old Obama insisted that he had divorced his wife in his native Kenya. Although his new wife, Ann Dunham, was five months pregnant with their child – who would be called Barack Obama II – Obama declared that they intended to put their child up for adoption.

“Subject got his USC wife ‘Hapai’ [Hawaiian for pregnant] and although they were married they do not live together and Miss Dunham is making arrangements with the Salvation Army to give the baby away,’’ according to a memo describing the conversation with Obama written by Lyle H. Dahling, an administrator in the Honolulu office of what was then called the US Immigration and Naturalization Service.
