Obama Cuts Short Martha’s Vineyard Vacation for Hurricane Irene.
President Obama will end his vacation tonight, one day earlier than originally planned, White House officials said.
The president thought it would “be more prudent for him to be in Washinton, D.C., and at the White House,” deputy press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.
The president made the decision to cut short his family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard shortly after addressing the nation about the impending danger of Hurricane Irene, which he said has the potential to be “historic.”
Obama is expected to arrive back at the White House on Friday evening. The family had been scheduled to return to Washington together tomorrow afternoon.
He’s crying all the way home.

So now, he is the weatherman, too. It just warms my heart to know he is there out in front of the storm protecting us and leading the way. And just like His pResidency, the storm is “historic”.

I think he’s trying to force us to lose weight.

Hurricane Irene, which he said has the potential to be “historic.”
Just like his usurpation, but less destructive.

He is a first-class idiot. This is how he leads, or pretends to lead. America is in the toilet and he has to be in D.C. to give updates on Hurricane Irene. I can only hope Irene finds her way to the WH!!
Freakin’ ass clown….

Unfortunately, unless it floods there, he will be in an underground bunker bawling over no golfing today.

If there are cracks in the Washington Monument, we can only hope there are cracks in the underground bunker!!

Ever since that weird brain surgery pic came out, I have wondered about his health.

There is nothing wrong with him Nom. He’s just a creep.

As a senator he kept his hair longer: it’s possible that the scar predates his presidency, (I think it may be in this picture here from 2006, it is hard to say http://hiphoprepublican.com/uploaded_images/obama-756935.jpg) but it is still a scar. It comes from something. If it were from something innocuous in his past like a car crash, it would be a matter of no import to admit to it, yet instead we were given stories of bad haircuts. When BHO announced he was returning to DC the predictions for the storm were that it was weakening. I would note that there’s a lot better medical care in D.C. than Martha’s Vineyard. Remember: they did not admit Reagan had been shot, and afterward they knew he had Alzheimers and they did not ever admit this.

Translation: “I’m scared spitless that I’ll get hurt in the hurricane, so I’m hurrying back to my bunker deep beneath the WH. H tler had a bunker too, didn’t he?”

Speaking of BHO going home early, there is nowhere any update on Gravel primarying him. I admit I was dead set against the idea of primarying him at first because all the candidates people were putting forth to replace him were no different (many had already said they would not run) and I felt certain it was an attempt to keep people from pursuing a third party option. Well, actually, I still think that is true. Except I don’t think Gravel is a plant: he has not been in office for quite some time now, and his announcement does not appear to come from within the fold. The complete lack of coverage on what ought to be a hot topic is imo a good sign he is truly opposed to the BHO administration. I really wish we could get more coverage.

Forget that cracked head, how are you doing? It’s been an onslaught of water since yesterday for that region Nom.

We had no problem at all, a couple of branches came down, but no trees or damage. I think we’d have had a real problem if this storm had come in a few weeks ago, but we finally got a little rain in the 2 weeks before it, so the damage to the trees was minimal. Winds got up to around 45mph but that was all. The Outer Banks got hammered and Atlantic Beach lost one of its 2 little piers but all the main stuff appears to have held up okay. Unfortunately a man in Wilson was killed by a falling tree while out walking; all told the storm has killed 8 people for all it was only a category 1.

I heard about that death Nom. Glad to hear that your trees in that area were not dry otherwise, they would all have snapped. It’s not uncommon for us to see 70+ spring storms, but we don’t have trees so it is not a problem.

The desert is very beautiful but I would find it very hard to get used to no trees. I am not big on gigantic views either. I feel like there is a big target sign painted on my forehead when walking around in really open areas, though I’ve known people from out west who think the mountains here claustrophobic.
Wolfpen Creek
How it was in that place, how light hung in a bright pool
Of air like water, in an eddy of cloud and sky,
I will long remember. I will long recall
The maples blossoming wings, the oaks proud with rule,
The spiders deep in silk, the squirrels fat on mast,
The fields and draws and coves where quail and peewees call.
Earth loved more than any earth, stand firm, hold fast;
Trees burdened with leaf and bird, root deep, grow tall.
