Police say Jean Baptiste Kingery, a U.S. citizen, was a veritable grenade machine. He’s accused of smuggling parts for as many as 2,000 grenades into Mexico for killer drug cartels — sometimes under the direct watch of U.S. law enforcement.

The prosecutors — already the target of controversy for overseeing “Fast and Furious,” wouldn’t comment on the grenades case. U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke recently resigned and his assistant, Emory Hurley, has been transferred. Sources say Hurley is the one who let Kingery go, saying grenade parts are “novelty items” and the case “lacked jury appeal.”

Mcnoramn- oh yeah- he knew- there is a c-span vid somewhere of a presser at the WHite House- 3/24/09 I think was the date- clearly Gibbs was there- The asst AG said in that vid that He and Holder were acting at the request of the president. One of the actions was “Project Gunrunner”

Thx PMM, hadn’t seen that video before; one wonders if Holder was told to fall on his sword and decided not to, hence the BHO administration’s lame attempt at distraction with the fake Iran plot.
I’ve detested the pos (Holder) since his involvement in the pardoning of Mark Rich by Clinton. But I bet he knows where a lot of skeletons are buried: he started under Reagan, rose to prominence under the Clintons, and is tied to BHO originally through Blagojevich.
I’m sure they won’t impeach BHO, he’s doing far too good of work for the PTB, but at least we might see a good bussification of Holder. Heh, maybe he’ll “commit suicide” out of remorse for all the little Mexican kids shot up by the cartels.

  Nom- WOW- that’s a first lol! I usually get links from you! The presser is much longer and clearly shows Gibbs and Janet the borders are safer than they’ve ever been Napolitano.
  The striking thing to me is that Issa is not using this vid. It is ON C-Span in its entirety. He has to know that. And it very neatly ties Holder AND Obama to Operation GunRunner- which, imo, is the SAME thing as Fast and Furious.

    PMM I am by NO means an expert on F&F, I have only minimal knowledge about it……but I do believe I read somewhere that project Gun Runner was actually implemented by Bush.
    
    My understanding is that Gun Runner was a separate operation, although it appears to have been the precursor to Fast and Furious.
    
    My knowledge is limited to some links I’ve followed from various websites and what has appeared in the MSM, which is not much.
    
    It matters not, the facts appear to be that Holder was not truthful with Congress and I seriously doubt Congress is amused. How far this goes we’ll see, but somehow I hold little faith that the republicans will do much other than bluster and blow….and use it as political theater for the upcoming election cycle. I know that sounds cynical and hey I AM cynical…..I just don’t believe there are any guys in white hats in DC.

      Now I may correcting myself, good grief…..there are several gun something or other projects. Somewhere I do recall in my pea brain reading that the first program of this type was implemented under the Bush administration, but was much smaller in scope than what the Obama administration did. What each of these projects were named who knows????
      
      Technically speaking, I think we could look back a few decades and say that perhaps Iran – Contra was the very first project gun runner….snark!

      I know nothing of this David Codrea, since he is a gun rights person I’m going to go out on a limb and say he’s a right winger…..yep I’m way out there I know, LOL!!! Anyway I think you’re all big enough boys and girls to read something with a skeptical eye and filter any bias. Facts are facts and should be verifiable, but from what people at NQ said this is a good place to start to gain some knowledge on F&F.

      The vid above clearly shows the asst AG telling the press pool that Obama had directed them to do – and so they did-
      Operation Gunrunner, gunwalking, Fast and Furious- whatever the hell they call it- there are many many many families- in Mexico and here- living without a loved one behind this BS.
      Obama and Holder need to be made to own this.

      Actually, the further left you go the more likely you are to be pro-gun, like me, because you don’t trust the government (which is fascist & rightwing).
      The progs probably are mostly anti-gun, but they are about a millimeter over the line towards the left, as they are more neoliberals (a word that comes from “libertarian” and not “liberal” btw) than anything else (ie pro the same fascist shit as the wingers when it’s their clown in office).

Suffice to say though that operation “Fast & Foolish” was and is nothing more than a back door attempt to put gun stores out of business starting with the border states, by inferring the gun store owners are in violation of “international firearms trafficking laws”

Had this worked out the way the scumbags in the Obomination administration had planned, that is surely what would have happened!

U.S. Central Command has released its official report on the SEAL Team 6 shoot-down, which resulted in 38 dead, including an entire 15-man DEVGRU Gold Squadron, which is the best of the best of the best in the SEAL community. In addition, another 8 SEALS were also killed. 23 SEALS on one National Guard helo.

It is probably in excess of 10,000 pages. But, I have already found something very interesting and disturbing.

On page 118 of the first interview transcript, an interviewee identified as JSOTF J3 says:

JSOTF J3: I believe it was two IEDs that they found and no detonations. So the ground force commander — let me back up. The ground force commander made a call at 0328 Zulu that he assessed no survivors from the crash. So the battle space owner arrived at 0721 Zulu; they linked up with (redacted) , and they recovered — the ground force commander, (redacted) , he called back and said they had identified, and removed 38 remains, is what he called back. So they were able to pull them out. And, you know, later on after he came out, we, kind of, got the back brief of how they were able to do that. But there was — I will let you talk to him about that piece. But he was essentially able to identify 38 remains there.

IO-DEP: Was there a manifest for that aircraft back at the –

JSOTF J3: Yes, sir. And I’m sure you know by now the manifest was accurate with the exception of the (redacted) personnel that were on. So the (redacted) personnel, they were the incorrect — all seven names were incorrect. And I cannot talk to the back story of why, but —

The “seven” that is referenced and redacted is, almost certainly, the Afghani contingent. There were 7 Afghanis on the helo. And this soldier testifies that ALL SEVEN NAMES of the presumed Afghanis on the flight manifest were incorrect. Wow. That is ominous, and certainly warrants further investigation. (Hello? Journalists?) I have worried all along that there could have been a suicide bomber, but an erroneous flight manifest of Afghanis also points to the possibility of some compromise of OPSEC.

Naturally there is a lot more to read. Given the sheer volume of data, the more eyes on this stuff, the better.

Also be sure to read page 111-112 where the soldier theorizes on why so many men were packed on the one helo. He says the planners felt that one helo in and out was “lower risk”, and that the advance warning given to the enemy in a multi-helo insertion put the second helo at increased risk. Given what happened to “EXTORTION 17″, I think that the argument in favor of the long-standing combat tactical concept of “dispersion protocol”, namely not putting all of your precious eggs in one basket, is now very much back on the table. Even so, I still can not fathom why they were in a National Guard transport helo and not an up-armored, up-teched MH-47G. If it is a risky insertion, and two helos are deemed an inferior tactic, why not use the combat helo that has increased night vision and infrared imaging, and perhaps more importantly, MORE HORSEPOWER for a more rapid approach and departure?
