Reblogged from peacocks and lilies:
I've come to think of Walter Russell Mead as the "Mind of the Middle." He's not conservative or liberal; he just makes common sense. His article about noise versus knowledge once again strike me right where I am in the moment. I know that Team Obama has been trying their level best to amplify a noise machine of their own making and that there are some very smart minds out there who think this will work.
Polls, schmolls, we know that they keep asking the same person the same question restated over and over.

Maybe that’s why I’m still waiting for their call. Anyway, they don’t want truth, just a bandwAgon effect for obugger.

I think you’re right. No one ever calls me. When they do call, I’m out after the first response. Go figure.

Months and months ago I got a call, well technically it was a call for my husband because he’s registered as no party affiliation but I took his survey for him……snicker. It was a push button response survey about the republican candidates back during the primary and also lots about Obama both personal attitude and job performance ratings.
I gave Obama the worst ratings I could and the republican contenders except Santorum favorable ratings, some higher than others. That was the first time in my lifetime our household got a call. I don’t personally know anyone else that has ever been surveyed during a Presidential campaign season. We haven’t had any call backs though.

Weird. I’m not even a listed number and these a$$es seem to always be able to find me.
