Obama makes late push for black voters.
As we roll into the final presidential debate, the polls show a very tight race. One thing they don’t show, however, is how race is a factor in the election.
By my estimate, you have to build in a three- to five-point slip from the poll numbers for any black candidate on election day. To overcome the slip, you need to pump up the black vote by equal measure.
And that’s not easy, because brothers and sisters aren’t among the top turnout groups.
In 2008, Barack Obama was able to compensate for the slip and then some. You would have thought it was Nelson Mandela coming out of jail. This time it’s not going to be that easy.
If Obama looks as if he’s going black, he could turn off white people. So he’s largely been lying low on the race issues – visibly pushing for the Latino vote, the gay vote, the women’s vote, but not the black vote.
Going black? More BS race baiting from the msm. Get a clue MSM. The empty chair is better than the man that occupies it once in awhile because it cannot speak.
But last weekend, he held a conference call with a collection of black preachers that included his old pastor, Jeremiah Wright. He wanted to talk to them about getting out the vote.

They are really worried about the turnout. O’s commercials are back on the air. They are now running that dumb one with Morgan Freeman narrating that makes me think of his pitches for credit cards (it actually sounds a lot like the recent Olympic ads). Therefore it just sounds like any other sales pitch to be tuned out.
I asked some people who are campaigning for down ticket candidates and they said they are afraid that they will get a very low turnout of Ds even in DC and MD for Barky is just not producing much interest. They added that O’s people are also worried it will make him look unpopular even though he is all but guaranteed DC and MD (the last time Maryland went for an R was Regan in 84).
Reading between the lines they are also nervous that some of the ballot issues up this round might bring out more Rs and Is while the Ds assume they are home free and are no shows.

Wow Mt Laurel. Everything that you are stating is very interesting. Sounds like the “real” world scenario is very scary for zero. I’m thrilled. I do hope that people go out and vote this time around. I believe the number was 11 million that refused to vote for McCain. I’m sure they won’t be sitting it out this time around.

Well same sex marriage is on the Maryland ballot this year and it is not going over well in those AA churches O was approaching to vote for him. This may pit groups of Ds against one another.
I have seen several references to the O campaigning wanting to be able run up the score to win the popular vote so they can go in an argue against the results should they loose the electorate vote. This would tie in trying to get as many out as possible even in states O is expected to win easily.
It is not going to be pretty no matter which way things fall. Some of these people still do not understand O cares not a wit about any state rights or issues. He justs wants everyone to vote for him.

It is sad. My kid lives in Philly and is telling me the same thing. They are clueless about what is happening and how they are being manipulated. Here’s an anxiety ridden post. Look at the image.

It is not going to be pretty unless it’s a landslide. In many ways, I wish it were over. Everyday is another anxiety ridden day for me. If it’s not learning how to live with the new ObamaCare regulations, it’s some other form of skin crawling news. That’s why I posted the Indian man and his daughter. It melted my heart. When things make me nuts at work, I think about what he is doing.

Did you see this?

Calling the election weeks before…what are they doing?

A couple people put the CBS affiliates premature calls down to testing graphics ahead of time (which would make some sense given when and where they were seen). However, when I test graphics that are not yet ready for prime time, I use nonsense categories and names. You never want someone using you fillers as the real deal.

Thanks for the heads up. Jeez, that really had me worried. I can tell you that I’m in the sticks and there are still very few signs up for zero. I’m talking a handful that I have seen in the city. I had a lot of errands to run this weekend and I was very surprised.
