YEAH!  $70,000 has been raised to help Diane.

Since the girl’s story went viral, hundreds of people have rallied to raise money for the teen, including one group, Louisiana Children’s Education Alliance, which said Wednesday it had raised more than $70,000 for Tran.


I think Houston heard loud and clear that this was a travesty of justice.  (Comments on this original post have been closed due to nasty, hateful comments which will not be tolerated.)    We hope that her record will be expunged.  She will never get into medical school without being able to explain this mess.

Fortunately, most understand that the decision to jail an honor student for contempt on the part of Justice of the Peace Judge Lanny Moriarty was nothing short of poor judgement.

Many have tried to make this a partisan issue which it is NOT.  Qualifications for a JP are simple.  No need for legal training (law school), Texas resident 12 months, and district resident 6 months.
