Bwhahahahahaa. United Hellcare pink slipped thousands of docs who take care of Medicare patients a few days ago. How many ways did this shit have to painted to the public in order for them to see what a pile it is?
Ted speaks for the “little people.” Too bad most of the little people don’t understand that they are getting the short end of the stick. I have no problem with any of this if Congress and the administration had to eat it as well.
Civil rights is one thing, but this here Obamacare is somethin’ else. Since we’re talking bartering, a fair trade would be healthcare.gov for some chile relleños al sud de la frontera. Both will take your breath away and your money, too – courtesy of the inshoance companies and their lobbyists.
Out volunteering today and being deep in Fed Central/Obot Central here in metro DC, the shutdown of 17% of the government (my favorite new figure is 83), was an unavoidable topic. I was amused when at one point they all collectively realized this has not happened since Clinton (no shutdowns for GW). But then agree or disagree with old Bill C, he understood the optics outside the beltway and to the world at large and it just did not have this cloud of doom hanging about. The one under George senior was so brief it was just like a long weekend and Regan’s was very minimal.
And then it hit home that this one really has brought us to down to a new low. No one was willing to go so far as to connect the dots of pettiness directly to O. However, they were bemoaning the new tactics of the IRS (no refunds but you will be fined for not paying even if they are not working), the fake shut down of web sites not even run by the government, and the bullishness over open air parks and memorials including several favorite alternative routes through pretty federal lands in our area.
I was asked about the health exchanges and I breifly outlined the differenc between Maryland (running its own) and DC and Virginia. No one spoke up to say they continue to see Ocare a great idea. I think those still with decent insurance are now starting to understand they are next into the breach.
Oh my Mt Laurel. Seems like the veil is becoming lifted. Albeit to slow to change anything. Connecting the dots is also something that most folks do not want to talk about outloud.
I do think that the middle class is waking up. They will soon find out that they are not safe either. I hear it everyday. It’s astonishing to me that somehow they believed that this overreach would not touch them. If it doesn’t hit them directly, there is someone in the family that is being affected.
